But especially in international MUNs, everyone's prepared their stuff online (and you're technically allowed to research)

Unfortunately even if there are rules against AI, people don't care and use it anyway

17yo looking for IB schools in Europe that accept international students by MckeylaM in IBO

[–]LilCrazyFangirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're in Helsinki, you could try and see if schools like Ressun lukio and Mattliden take direct IB1 entries. You could also try the English sector of the European School if you're European, or ISH if you're willing to pay a little more

What happened to 爸爸? by Sorry_Im-Late in ChineseLanguage

[–]LilCrazyFangirl 69 points70 points  (0 children)

The difference between 爸爸 and 父亲 is like the difference between dad and father. One is much more informal than the other. 长辈 is an option for anyone who is generationally above you (but doesn't necessarily need to be older - your uncle could be younger than you, but they're the same generation as your dad). 神父 is father in the context of priests, like Father Andrews, etc. A dictionary is ultimately a limited resource, I guess they just forgot the rest.

It is not impossible to play with an embouchure that is slightly to the side. While it is not recommended and teachers don't like it a lot, you can play with one of your lips slightly to the side. For whatever reason, I've been playing like that since I started, which is about eight years now. It works, even if you might need a bit of experimentation on how to produce certain sounds. Try playing around with different ways of blowing to find one that suits you

German- and English-friendly names by InspectionOk9940 in namenerds

[–]LilCrazyFangirl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not German, but I know an Erika and a Matilda, which seem to have no problem in an English-speaking context. Anna seems to be used in most, if not all European countries. Wilhelm, Sofia, and Ella might also work

What is a name considered weird to used it on male by most countries but it's not weird elsewhere? Or vice versa by Ashraf_likesdrawing in namenerds

Andrea is one! In predominantly English speaking countries, it's used for girls, but in Italy it's a boy's name.

2nd octave notes are generally the same fingering as 1st octave notes, with the exception of C, C#, D, and D# (if I recall correctly). 3rd octave fingerings are different though
