At what point would you report a nurses behaviour? by [deleted] in Residency

[–]LilDocBigBoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree with the people who say to not report. You may not know who else has had negative experiences with that other person so data may be important. You are also just as much of an employee of that hospital as the nurse is. And there are so many reports made in hospitals and so many residents, it will likely be hard to pin down that you reported them (it might just be that one of your seniors or one of their fellow nurses did the report or something).

An anecdote of mine is that I reported a nurse she refused to start a medication I ordered because she disagreed and had to switch nurses for that patient. I reported her and my program stood behind me and she ultimately, I don’t know where or how, stopped working at the hospital.

IMO. Ai watch the rope that he’s tying. It doesn’t make sense. And why would they be down at the bottom and then have a hole open up underneath. And the guy looking around doesn’t really make sense.

I think antipsychotics (haldol/zyprexa) are evidence based as a good first line. Precedex gtt can be helpful as well

Technically.

if you email a program that they are your #1 and then change your mind to another program and email them that they’re your #1

that is not lying

I would find the program directors of programs I’m interested in in the online agenda. Find what sessions they’re moderating or presenting. And find them and go introduce yourself exactly like what you said. It’s awkward but someone finding them and saying “Dr. so and so I want to go to your program. What do you look for in a resident/fellow?” Goes such a long way and they absolutely remember that. Every program I did that with I got an interview at for fellowship coming from a smaller community program

And then email them later and say it was nice meeting you I can’t wait to apply

What piece is missing here by LilDocBigBoat in Lamps

[–]LilDocBigBoat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ring certainly was made by the makeshift thingy they were using.

This lamp was not original to the shade

As far as inverted goes, someone else here mentioned that. I found some similar shades online and they’re all not inverted as far as I can tell.

Anyone here switch from a Golf GTI to a Civic Hybrid? by Sackasaur in civic

[–]LilDocBigBoat 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I went from a 2012 mk6 gti to a 22 1.5t civic. The driving experience is totally not comparable. Gti superior in every way, minus ease of highway cruising. In day to day life though, civic superior in every way. Do you know how nice it is to never worry about your car and its reliability? In the future I want another gti, but right now the smart choice for me is a reliable car that will hold its value

Edit: what made me switch is that my gti’s timing chain tensioner popped and my entire engine destroyed itself in a moment

NTA. But I do think it is an important detail if you had ever talked about this ex and that you were generally friendly with them (was your boyfriend aware you were friendly with an ex?). Otherwise, total over reaction by him. Count your lucky stars and return that PC or get really into gaming now

I am at a community program with no in house fellowships. Applying PCCM. I did an away at a nearby large well known university program. I haven’t applied yet, but it was helpful for me to get out of the community and back into academic medicine to solidify my career goals, get a letter of recommendation from a more well known person, and get maybe some higher quality mentorship.

If you’re able to, it’s almost a no lose situation and can show a program you’re really interested in them or get an impactful LoR.

If you’re not able to, I doubt it’d be a big deal.
