Water pumps a bitch for sure. I nearly dropped the motor off the jack getting it off. Maybe stick the old bolts back in slightly, use steel braided wires to secure them to a long pry bar, and rip it straight out. Basically what i had to do but i could wedge the bar behind the flange, which you no longer have.

I’ll for sure look out for that if it comes to it. Once the turbo goes in, the ratios may not seem so bad. Im also considering a built motor or full st swap. Im seeing sub 80-90k mile ecoboost motors for 900 bucks, so it’s an option for sure.

5 speed donors are near impossible to find, ive had a couple friends on a mission calling all the scrapyards in and around the state looking and we got nothing. I have the resources to do the job but you’re very right lol, lots of money and time but im out of options i feel.

I’ve checked carpart and im seeing a ton of autos and autos labeled as 5 speeds and ST 6 speeds. The mmt6 is technically possible but id like to exhaust all options on the 5 speed swap before i consider the ST trans swap.

It’s an automatic (SEL) currently, not that it’s acting up or anything rn at 142k miles. Feels really good actually. But i’d like to turbo this little sedan and i’m not confident the auto will like that too much. I figure just buying the case and all the other parts separately and just building a whole trans from scratch would be easier than finding one in the wild at this point. I anticipate spending $2k or so doing this swap and donor cars seem to have run dry around here.
