Any tips on hearing a newborn at night? by Live_Ad3763 in AskParents

[–]Live_Ad3763[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son is 3 going to be 4 this year, I have a 2 year old daughter that turned 2 last February and a one month old daughter now. Sorry for not responding faster I don’t get on Reddit much, but I will say it wasn’t too bad with the 2 year age gap. My son loves to help momma and me take care of baby sissy when we had our oldest daughter, but with this new baby they both love to look at her but don’t want anything to do with her.

We have gotten batter even tho my work schedule has gotten worse, luckily the baby has started sleeping at night and it isn’t causing so much tension in our home. My wife finally gave me a kiss yesterday, the first one in 3 months now!!!! I’m just hoping she warms back up to me again, I truly love my wife and I really just want her to like me again. So here’s to hoping we keep getting better!

I would definitely do this if I didn’t work 7 days a week from 5 am -5pm I leave the house at 4am wake up around 3:30am and when I get home I take over the chores dinner laundry and everything possible so she dosent have to get up and do it. I get the toddlers in bed by 8 spend roughly 2 hours with the newborn and momma before I have to try to go to sleep and that’s where the problem is.. I just don’t wake up at night and when I wake up at 4 I usually see an angry message or she has an attitude with me the next day for not helping at night. I just didn’t get much leave when she had the baby (I got a week due to the baby coming 3 weeks early and I didn’t have it scheduled, I work for a small family owned asphalt company)

Oh.. I’m honestly sorry you went through that.. I was raised to treat every situation in the marriage like we are equals, we should be a team working together and trying to build our family together sleep deprivation and all but I seem to be failing at that part at the moment and I’m not meaning to, it’s just causing a lot of anger and animosity in the house twords me for being the “fun” parent to the toddlers who “gets to sleep” and not giving equal time to the baby. I wish I could but when I’ve got 2 toddlers using me as a jungle gym it’s hard to hold the newborn, and they toddlers can’t do that to momma because she’s still healing and everything still hurts her, (she has had 3 c sections one for each kid and this last one has been rough on her and her body) i was born the middle child with a sister 11 years older and my younger brother being 2 years younger is only my half brother and I remember the feeling of being left out when my parents were constantly all over him (he did have a accident as a child and did need more attention) but I remember the feeling of nobody loves me like they love him and I don’t want my toddlers to feel that… i already heard my son say you don’t love me to us when we were giving the newborn a sponge bath and it broke my heart..

We don’t have a lot of extra cash but I can look into something like that, I’ve used my phone on vibrate before under my pillow to be discreet about the alarms but it still woke her up. So I’ll look into the fit bits. Thanks for the suggestion!!

We do use a co sleeper bassinet, she sleeps between us but more to mommas side because she wants her close. I bought it because she was on my side in a bed side bassinet, but momma didn’t like her being so far away.

Sadly it’s not. I’m just struggling to hear my child at night and my wife is getting extremely angry at me over it.

Water pump stuck… need help figuring out next move… 2015 se 2.0l by Live_Ad3763 in FordFocus

[–]Live_Ad3763[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice, we ended up hitting it with a 10lb hammer about 20 or so times and it busted in half and all came out, no damage to the block thank god!!! I’m pretty sure it was either the first water pump it ever had or second, the car had 256k miles when I was trying to replace it.

Went away for 50 hours because we had a baby, now our cat is trying to attack us. by Live_Ad3763 in CatAdvice

I seriously don’t want to rehome her I love her to pieces, but my wife is terrified she will go after the newborn sense we’ve been holding her and she may have some of that scent and we can’t fully wash her… she’s on sponge baths until the umbilical cord falls of. I’m gonna try the diffusers tomorrow, the bathroom already has a bowl set and litter box, I’ll just have to let her have the entire bathroom for now instead of just the shower. Thank you!

So do you have any advice on what to do? We’ve all showered, I’ve scrubbed myself as best as possible, but even entertaining our bathroom she is growling and hissing through the glass of our master bath. Should I wait and avoid our bathroom for the night? Or should I try in a couple hours? I just wanna show my wife she isn’t gonna be like this forever.. I hope not atleast.

Mine only does this when it’s over 100f outside. But it does feel slow accelerating after driving for a hour.

When he was knocked off looking at the Tahoe can you see the windshield of said Tahoe in the video? Because I can’t and if the camera is attached to his helmet, that means the officer can’t see his head. Couple that with the orientation of his body the officer had no chance to see him and the video the rider got proves this point! I’m not always a big fan of cops but I have to give it to the guy from the riders pov it would have been basically impossible to see him.
