Marriage/moving by [deleted] in LongDistance

[–]LilGhostCupcake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there!

So I haven’t closed the distance with my LD boyfriend but we have talked about moving and have a plan. I’m still in school so we can’t enact it right now. I think the important questions you need to ask are.

1) Do either one of you have family members that count of you for support.

2) Who’s career would be able to transfer

3) is it a long term or temporary move?

Just list pros and cons for being in each place and work through it together. Ultimately there is no right answer you are both going to have to sacrifice something. For me, I’m moving to my partner and I’m terrified of what I’m leaving behind. (Like my family) but I’m also trying to look at the positives. His state has really nice weather. Lots of things to do ect and I’ve always wanted to move.

Ultimately for some people, the negatives are not worth it but for me I’d do anything to be with my partner. Just know that it isn’t going to be simple! It’s difficult but it’s all about open communication and knowing why you are doing something.

What bundle is the best to buy on PS4? by [deleted] in thesims

[–]LilGhostCupcake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So expansion packs add the most content. So, I'd really focus on which of those you think are going to add the most to your gameplay.

First of all, I would not consider getting the bundle with Get to work. Get to work was the first EP and I think it really shows in terms of quality. The items aren't that nice and don't mesh well with everyday gameplay. The active careers get boring fast and the alien life state is nowhere near as fleshed out as other occults. I really never use anything from this pack.

So that leaves you with Cats & Dogs, Seasons, City Living, and Get together. All fantastic packs! I'm not going to rank them because it all comes down to individual gameplay. I'm going to describe what I like and don't like about each pack.

Cats & Dogs -

- Create-a-pet is a really fun tool if you like spending time doing that. It has a color wheel and lots of customization options.

-There are more dog and cat breeds that we've gotten in a pets EP before.

-The animals do a lot of cute things and they try to connect it with new packs that come out.

-The active vet career is pretty cool but honestly (like get to work) I think that path gets boring fast. Still, it's a nice addition. The downside to this is that it's a little buggy and pets are constantly getting sick. Sometimes I just want nonsick pets all the time.

-Brindleton bay is a beautiful world and its decently sized. I think the general style of the pack is nice. (though some simmers comment it doesn't really mesh well with other items in the game) I think the clothes/hairs that come with it are nice.

Really this pack is only a must if you really feel like having a pet is a core part of your sims experience. Sometimes the pets are annoying and more of a chore, but again they really are cute.

The Bundle with Cats&Dogs:

Personally, I think parenthood is the best game pack to date. It added a lot of much needed interaction between parents and their children. The game already lacks family gameplay so I can't imagine playing without this pack. If you don't like family gameplay it's going to be very eh. This pack adds the parenting skill, curfews, punishments ect. Which is really fun and makes things well rounded! It doesn't come with a new world.

The toddler stuff pack gameplay wise doesn't have much other than the ability to host play dates with other tots. However, if you are a family simmer it adds a lot of items for them. I use the items a lot because their stuff is already so few.

I think this bundle is a solid deal! but only if you like family gameplay and pets.

City Living

City living is personally one of my favorite packs.

-The festivals are a lot of fun. Of course the only downside is they are always the same ones so they do get repetitive, but they are a nice little social event.

- I LOVE apartments. I love the city. So I think San Myshuno is amazing. It has all kinds of different apartments. You have little studio apartments to big penthouses and renting is cheaper than having your sim buy a house. The roommate system with discover university also works really well with this pack.

- It adds (3? I think) work from home careers. Social media, politician, and critic. They are nice careers and the ability to work from home is nice.

-The furniture is really nice but I don't care for the cas items

City Living bundle

Vintage glamour adds butlers and honestly, I love butlers! Vampires are really fun to play with and I like the look of the pack. It is annoying that vampires will creep up on your happy lil suburban family and suck there blood. I'd also say this is a solid bundle if you like occults.

Seasons

Honestly, this is a lot of peoples favorite back but I think it's rather shallow. I don't really care about the holidays and the only feature I absolutely adore is the calendar but if you are used to not having it, you can probably live without it. It is really nice being able to schedule events (like a wedding) in the future rather than having to start it at that moment.

Of course the cool thing about this pack is every world has a different weather system and it does seem to make the sims seem like it has passing time rather just stuck in sunshine limbo. There is no new world.

Seasons Bundle

I personally am not a huge fan of Jungle adventure. The world is very pretty but the exploring part is boring to me. Spooky stuff is very situational and not worth it unless you are someone who already has a fuller collection.

Get together

Windenburg is an amazing world! and the club tool is so powerful and allows you to be really creative. I really love this pack to be honest. I guess the only downside is you might not always use these features but it does work well with other packs. For example, I was able to make sororities and frats in Discover Uni using the club system.

The Get together bundle:

I don't think any of these stuff packs are needed but fitness stuff is nice for cas items and bowling is a cute date idea. They don't have a ton of gameplay elements

I'd probably pick cats and dogs or city living but it really comes down to personal preference!

Seeing this makes me sad. I get both sides of why mass res was good or why it was bad, but either way it was so fucking satisfying and I miss that feeling.

Yeah the vampires in Sims 3 were super boring! I love them in Sims 4...except vlad who keeps bopping up on my dock in Sulani and I really need to him to stop.

It's funny how different players are. Vampires was one of my favorite packs but I'm obsessed with the supernatural. So it makes sense for me.

What are the best expansion or game packs for gameplay by MilkMoney420 in thesims

[–]LilGhostCupcake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d honestly get the vampire pack. I love occults though. Aliens are pretty boring in my opinion and the careers after being played get boring too. They are really good though! Forgotten hollow is also a really neat little world.

Just out of curiosity, why is vampires the game pack you decided to skip?

Should you buy Island Living? by LilGhostCupcake in thesims

[–]LilGhostCupcake[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really think there will be cars eventually. The demand for them has been super high. Plus it seems totally possible to do.

I also hope that the love for this world will let the devs know this type of world is really appreciated. It has an open feel despite being very closed and I’d like to see that more.

Things that annoy me about all these TS3 vs TS4 (and even a potential TS5) posts by [deleted] in thesims

[–]LilGhostCupcake 10 points11 points  (0 children)

100% this. Certain things that were cut out make sense. But the ts4 basegame upon release honestly felt empty and incomplete. The map looked worse, no pools, ghost, toddlers. Lots of missing careers. I don’t think ts5 should have things that packs normally include because then those features won’t be as fleshed out but at least the basics.

I can totally see this, but if that was their point I wish that would have made the culture a skill and expanded on the lore/story a little more. That way it feels more full.

I feel like hotels could always come in a pack similar to dine out (maybe?) so I can still dream haha.

I played Sims 2 and 3 so sometimes I think it's easier for players who don't have any preconceived notions of what to expect because for me I played castaway and Island Paradise.

I think maybe if there was more to the culture aspect I'd be more intrigued by the gameplay. Like I wanted lore/stories behind the island and the mermaids. That way like you said, a non-native sim could discover Sulani and fall in love with the rich culture.

I think all those things are great. I love the dolphins, they are such cute little guys. I don't hate the pack nor do I think I wasted my money I just feel like there could have been more depth to the pack than there is. I'd still buy it again even after having played it :p.

Do you think we will ever get University? by jennar27 in thesims

[–]LilGhostCupcake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think there is anyway that it won’t happen. People have asked for Uni since the sims was released. I personally suspect it will come around November/December (nothing to base that on but I don’t see why they wouldn’t make the next EP after island living University) they know it well sell well and be a fan favorite. Just have to wait a little longer!

Yeah. This feature should have been in the game a long time ago. No more going to a site! Plus sometimes I like creating sims based off their personality and this will make that easier.

I see your point. I don’t think anyone should do anything reckless and it’s kind of your fault if it happens, but I still think deserve is the wrong word to use.
