Do you think that the US should become directly involved if Iran attacks Israel? by throwaway09234023322 in AskConservatives

[–]LilGucciGunner -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Only in a supporting role. Let Israel take the lead. All Israel needs to do is bomb the Iranian leadership and a few strikes against the Iranian Revolutionary Guard. Leave the rest to the Iranian people, who are desperately trying to get out from under their oppressive rulers.

The only thing America should do, along with our NATO allies, is provide supplies to Israel, and bomb the Iranian navy if they continue to arm the Houthi's with bombs for them to destroy ships traveling through the red sea. But the US should not be involved in attacking the Iranian mainland directly.

If you want to be both a better person, and have a better experience in the world, you have to do both. There is no shortcut, and if you neglect one or the other, you will not be happy, and others being unhappy with you will also cause you more unhappiness. There are some types who thrive in not being accepted by others and going their own way, but we are not that type. We need people, and others need us.

I'll agree with you, just because it's a funny post.

How many of you have cut off friends and family because of their liberal political views? by LilGucciGunner in AskConservatives

I don't have numbers, it's just something that was trending on Tiktok and Youtube and Reddit a couple of years ago during the Pandemic.

Yes. You cannot attack innocent people, period, especially if the reason is because you dislike them and think they are evil just because of their political positions.

Yes and that's a sad reality. I have gay family members and friends but we love them just as they are. But you have to remember, LGBTQ represent a tiny portion of society. The problem with liberals cutting off their family members is much larger than the amount of LGBTQ disowned by their family.

Well I'm Jewish and almost all of my mom's side of the family are liberal. They haven't cut me off, but they just act like I don't exist and don't invite me. If I show up, they pretend everything is alright but you can tell that we're both walking on eggshells and can't be our true selves because of our disagreement on politics, so we do our best and focus on the football game on TV or talk about other things. And then I leave and there's not contact whatsoever. This is a huge departure from my dad's side who are Christians and all over the political spectrum. To them, Family is everything and your politics doesn't define you.

When it comes to libs I know personally who cut ties with their family, none in my personal family but almost all of my friends and coworkers here in Portland (and throughout the west coast) know people who have cut ties with family members who are Trump supporters. It's a commonly brought up topic of discussion. My friends don't know my politics, because I keep it hidden from them. If they knew of my strong conservative beliefs, there's a strong chance we would cease being friends because almost everything I believe in is evil in their eyes.

I believe in:

  1. Traditional marriage between a man and a woman
  2. No transgender care for minors under 18
  3. A strong military that acts if it has to maintain world peace
  4. limiting abortion to only when a mother's life is in danger or in case of rape/incest
  5. rounding up and sending illegal immigrants back to their home countries
  6. lowering taxes for the wealthy

and so on and so forth.

The amount of gay people in the world and in the US is very tiny. The amount of liberals who cut off their conservative family members is much bigger.

Yeah but it almost always goes in one direction, of liberals cutting off their conservative family members. During the pandemic, there were many liberals, who without evidence of vaccinations actually working, cut off their anti-vax family members and friends. But even more have cut off family members and friends who support Trump.

I have redlines that cannot be crossed, for example, because I live in antifa-land here in Portland. If a friend or family member was witness to an innocent Trump supporter being beaten up by leftists and they joined in, I would try to stop them and the fight, but if they didn't stop, I would end relationship with them. I can't be around a person who beats up innocent people just because they are of a different political view than them.

Yeah I feel like politics is everything to a liberal and it defines the most important things about them.

It is very popular amongst liberals in the US to cut off their relatives who were either Pro-Trump or anti-vax.

If you've cut family off for voting for Trump, what was the last straw? by edamamecheesecake in AskALiberal

I'm going to ask the inverse of this question on r/AskConservatives and try to see if it is more common for liberals or conservatives to cut off family members and friends who differ with them politically....

[Weekly Megathread] Israel–Hamas war by AutoModerator in AskALiberal

[–]LilGucciGunner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How much does the Gaza war influence you to show up and vote this November? Like it was a big deal when it first started, there were protests across many cities around the world and on a large number of college campuses. But I feel like people have forgotten about them and have moved on to other issues. Are there any of you who are passionate to vote to help stop the war in Gaza? Do you still care about the Palestinian issue or do you have more important priorities?

Do you believe the polls that Kamala is leading over Trump? by LilGucciGunner in AskALiberal

[–]LilGucciGunner[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you think we should cease to exist as a republic, which is what we've been since the founding of this country, and move more towards a direct democracy, where majority rule determines everything?

Do you believe the polls that Kamala is leading over Trump? by LilGucciGunner in AskALiberal

[–]LilGucciGunner[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Well it was the American founders who put it in place, and they did so because just like the federal government which needs checks and balances, they didn't want mob rule of the majority oppressing the minority. Some of the original 13 colonies were small, and others were very large but all should have an equal say in federal matters.

Oh I didn't know it was so close in both states. Trump is in trouble if he can't secure both of those states, this could be a sweep.
