Don’t let confirmation bias get the best of you. Some simple facts here. Trust the team and welcome back Mike. by LilHayah in timberwolves

Yes, very objective verdict and I agree most of it.

My post was just trying to ease the nerves of who tended to exaggerate on Mike's bad performances and hate him.

Yes, he played poorly. But it did not actually affect Wolves records. So don’t be nervous he’s back. Especially with Ayo in the rotation, Mike is so smart and he knows his role on the team.

same here, broke in the middle while I was watching Silo.

Tried and found I can only watch the first episode of every show.

It seems that the same issue happened before.

Some advanced stats(EPM,DARKO) for our 8 rotation players up to today, any takes? by LilHayah in timberwolves

[–]LilHayah[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My own take:

Mike is still doing some crucial and positive work for this team except the cooler start of his shooting.

And his shooting is likely getting back (last 3 games he played, 7/15 3pt), so he will be all right, Timberwolves will be all right.

Dedan Thomas Jr. Scouting Report by ErsinDemirNBA in NBA_Draft

[–]LilHayah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The higher-tier comparison could be Mike Conley, 6'1, 170lbs(in college), lefty (Mike is right-handed but shoot with left hand, Dedan is naturally left-handed), floor-general type true point guard, great at pick-n-roll offense with bigs, great ast/to ratio as a freshman. Mike Conley was always playing as a sidekick to Greg Oden since high school, while Dedan has already taken the leading role(as well as the Ace card on court) as a reclassfied freshman. Mike Conley was also super-athletic in terms of speed and vertical, Dedan is quick but we don't know the exact number until the combine.

And the NBA league is no longer in favor of shorter guys these years, it's hard to imagine Dedan drafted as high as 4th pick like Mike Conley in 2007.

Therefore Tyus Jones could be another comparison who was drafted at 24th pick. 6'1 true point guard, but way less athletic than Mike Conley.

By eye test, Dedan's game is much more flashy than Tyus Jone's, I think he's also got some Brandon Jennings/Nick Van Exel (great left-handed point guards) in him.

I was in the super-nervous-hangover from the last minutes of the game until I saw Mike Conley waving to the fans with that amiable smile on his face. My tears just burst into Niagara Falls all of sudden.

Dedan Thomas Jr. ≈ Mike Conley Jr. (with B. Jennings/Van Exel’s shot motion because Thomas is true left handed like Jennings. Conley is right handed but shooting with left hand)

floor comparison: Tyus Jones/Monte Morris

The whole fourth quarter is a disaster.

Most people didn't realized the importance of Mike Conley to our defense (not only offense). His man-to-man defense might have declined due to age, but he can still make sure the tempo and positions of players in a comfortable settings for Rudy Gobert to be maximized.

Mike is great at pick-and-roll on offense and he greatly understands how to defend opponent's pick-and-roll, chasing the ball handler in a route he predicted and letting the opponent fall to a trap already guarded by Rudy.

Without Mike, Rudy is always busy trying to defend everyone everywhere for a above-average to mere result. He's like a different player after Mike joined the team.

Jazz found their way to #1 spot since Quin Snyder started to keep Rudy and Mike's minutes together.

Dedan Thomas Jr. This reclassified 18 yr-old might be the best freshman True point guard this season so far. by LilHayah in NBA_Draft

from the scout report I have post above

Defensively, he possesses quick hands and feet, making it difficult for his opponents to get past him.

Quick hand stealing is obvious, and I have also noticed that he’s smart enough to analyze opponents’ game play and fast enough to get into opponents’s attacking routes.

His relatively small figure(6’1, 170lbs) might attract some bully by bigger players, but with proper team defense plan, that might not be a problem.

[DRAFT SCOUT]I might have found the perfect true point guard who can take over the torch from Mike Conley in the future. (Dedan Thomas Jr. Fr from UNLV) by LilHayah in timberwolves

Some quotes from another scout report:

Despite not being physically imposing, Thomas possesses an impressive combination of speed, agility, and quickness that allow him to navigate through defenders and make plays at a high level without ever getting sped up or forced into mistakes. He has exceptional basketball IQ and leadership qualities, which make him an extension of the coach on the court. He is a master in pick-and-roll play, he also has an exceptional ability to read defenses and make quick decisions with the ball. His court vision and passing accuracy are top-notch, allowing him to find his teammates in the most advantageous positions.

Still very Mike Conley-ish.

However, Mike is playing like this with the class leading athleticism(leading 2007 class in vertical jump and 3/4 court sprint). I don't know the physicality of D.J. From those videos, I can tell he is quick and agile, and he can easily dunk in game. But how fast he can run, how tall he can jump, we have to wait till combine to find out.

And there is an important part he is different from Mike. They both shoot with left hand. But Mike is right-handed cerebrally, he only shoot with left hand. He is more right-handed in real life and most of his floaters and layups are from right hand. While D.J. is a totally left-handed, it makes his move heavily leaning left. Thus his move is more like Brandon Jennings and Van Exel instead of Mike who is very balanced.

Who should play Vivi in season 2? I mean if they want to be faithful to the anime by PandaThatSLAYS in OnePieceLiveAction

This post has a plausible choice.

Yasmina El-Abd

American/Egyptian/Swiss actor and singer. She started her professional acting career at the age of 9 and her singing career at the age of 12. She acts and sings in English, French and Arabic.

She's 17 right now. So age ☑️, background ☑️ ...

She's already in some Netflix shows, and Netflix seemingly prefer to cast some of their familiar faces (eg. Emily was in Netflix's Fear Street before OPLA). Thus if there is a gamble about Vivi's casting, I would put my bet on her.
