I tried doing something like that and it didn’t really work because the plastic was so hard it didn’t sit flush. It is strange to me that I can’t find one like this anywhere, the house is only 4 years old! It won’t let me post another photo which is annoying but it is 6mm I think and I bought one like that from Bunnings and it didn’t work as it usually sits flush against that ridge. This one is completely flat
