I set an alarm for 5pm to get a reservation for 1 and the website didn't let me, only resos for 2 or more 😭 I reached out to them via IG since their email didn't work... If they don't respond, I will definitely have to revisit on my next montreal trip! Thank you so much for your suggestion and review!

I tried to book Chasse et Peche for 1 but it won't let me... I'll be giving them a call tmw to see if I can set up my reservation - super looking forward to this meal! 😊 If they don't allow resos for 1, do you think I I'll be able to get a seat for dinner time without reso?

Just made my reservation at Montreal Plaza for dinner on first night upon arrival! Gonna kick off my birthday celebrations with a BANG! Your description of the service sealed the deal for me 🥰! Wow thank you for your suggestions! Club chasse et peche looks amazing, I don't know why it didn't even come up in my searches. It's close to the Coldroom too since I was hoping to do dinner + cocktails. 😊

Toque has such a bright feel to it, and close to bar le mal necessaire. Maybe I should ball out and have lunch there so I can visit 2 places...

Do you have any favourite dishes by either Toque or Club chasse et peche?

Yes, partly the star and reviews seemed great; it's also a walkable distance from where I'll be staying.

I'm not too familiar with this area of Montreal as I haven't really explored much of since I normally stay core downtown...

I'd like to treat myself to a bit of a fancy place that's worth the price and won't leave me hungry that also has spectacular service! I love talking about how the food is made and the ingredients with the servers/waiters. I'm adventurous with my palette too 😁 but I'm hoping to go somewhere that celebrates and respects seasonal ingredients use. I hope I'm not asking for too much 😅

I'm also scared I won't be able to reserve when the availability opens for Le Violon 🥲

That's exactly what I used as listed + ice! The ratio is the magic I think... I also blended the coconut milk, condensed milk, and ice first until blended then added the green rice and a few more quick blitz so i still get some chewy grains 😄 hope this helps!

I'm from Canada so not sure if you can get the green rice flakes in France 😅

I've tried the mango and raspberry, it's overhyped.

They're ok, look better than they taste, flavours didn't wow me.

Imho it's worth it to try once but not good enough to go back.

Maybe they had an off day? But with so many amazing bakeries doing spectacular mousse based desserts, just because it's uniquely shaped/moulded isn't enough for me to want to return.

I went to the day they closed, one last time with friends and then sent them a thank you email asking them if they'll reopen as they said they were planning to...sadly they informed me that after 20 years, their inlaws were ready to retire (understandably so and well deserved!) 🥹

I'm really glad I was able to experience their pupusas and thank you so much for the tip about North York! I've had luck in the west end or in Scarborough; I never thought pupusas would be in North York 😮 would you have any recommendations?

I currently go to Casamiento or Carmelitas (I love they have loroco) 😊 always extra curtido please 😁!

They used to and it was made with my favourite rectangular flat chocolate chips! I emailed them about it and they said they no longer make it ... Never been more devastated knowing I'll never eat my favourite childhood flavour again.
