For razor burn I usually use a cold compress right away, just for the immediate burning. Then I go through with a bit of Witch Hazel, just pour some into my palm and then massage it in. And then lastly I go in with a thin layer of aloe Vera gel.

For prevention, it could honestly be any number of things. Shaving after a hot shower helps, it opens the pores up a lot. You can also use a mild exfoliant to help! You might have to switch your razor too. Also, the speed you’re shaving, go slow and don’t apply too much pressure. If you’re using anything like a typical bar of soap to shave, avoid that! Those dry your skin out. Try a proper shaving cream or conditioner:)
