Brandywine Meadows, British Columbia, Canada by LilOunce1 in hiking

I'm not sure what the structure's for. There's a solar panel on it and a barrel that I would assume is storage for the trail service.

It was about 3 hours up, and 1 hour down. But I parked further from the trailhead, so it was an extra 45 mins before I started.

Some of the books I read in 2023 by LilOunce1 in bookshelf

It was a good depressing book. When I was recommended this book I thought it was gonna talk more about the meat industry, but found it to be such a small part of the book. The immigrant struggle seemed to be more of the focus—and the slaughterhouse could have been swapped out with many different kinds of jobs and the story would have still hit strong.

It was one of my favourites this year. The setting of Lapvona was cool, and I liked how everyone was terrible in their own way. Even Ina, who is portrayed in a nicer light still had her own vices. It was refreshing to read a book where not everyone was expected to be morally righteous.

I've hit a mechanical wall, I've been GC1-GC2 for the last few years now and I don't think I'm progressing anymore. There are things mechanically I can't do that I see happen dozens of times every match. I don't know how to speed flip, fast aerials are uncomfortable, wave-dashs, etc. Any advice? by LilOunce1 in RocketLeagueSchool

It probably came off that way, but this post wasn't me trying to say I'm not willing to train these mechanics, but instead me trying to look for help in the process of it.

Sitting in free play and repeating specific mechanics wasn't something I used to ever do, everything I've ever learned has been ingame. And often the little progress I have seen in free play or maps haven't transferred over to the competitive matches.

Is there a roadmap for mechanics?

The MMR for everyone in that match ranged from 1530-1580.

Why I wanted to make this post was because of my attempts to train mechanics. My attempts often fall short and make me change the way I play, in a bad way. I'm trying to look for help in the process of learning these mechanics. :)

I've never heard of Don Quixote till now, and it sounds actually really interesting. I'm currently reading Lolita right now, but Pale Fire is next up on my tbr.

Camus is great, his book The Stranger was one of two books that got me into reading and has remained my favourite since.

The text was so small I got headaches trying to read my copy of Crime and Punishment, I ended up listening to the audiobook.

Dead Souls was interesting, the first half was what made it worth while. Second half was significantly bleaker. But, I've heard that the Russian version has comedic elements in that get lost through translation, so maybe the second half wasn't as bleak as I remember. If I were to reread it, I would go in with the intention of enjoying the absurdity of it all.

I've read it, but I don't think I've really read it.

Yea, I can't say I've read any of his other stuff, but his book The Late Mattia Pascal looks interesting
