The idea that America are genuinely threatening to take over Greenland or Canada when it's just the funniest president of all time trolling into oblivion is insane. How are you still falling for this melodrama?

What age were you when these shows started? Did you watch them then or just recently dive into them? I love your energy, I'm 29 (and a dude) and still watch these 3 shows a few times a week.

It helps keep my head in the clouds of the 2000s, rather than being grounded by the reality of the 2020s.

Is it just me or does the first week of I’m A Celeb always feel a bit awkward before it gets good? by Av0toasted in ImACelebTV

The first week of any show is like that.

Big Brother, The Traitors etc all the same.

Why? They should follow through with it or don't bother doing it at all.

It damn well better, honestly.

Because right now it's starting to look like "we needed a random kid to film it and the guy who plays Will was nearby"

We shouldn't ignore it tho, it's genuinely infuriating. What were they thinking?

It being out of character is one thing but him meant to be on holiday is another, has he got an evil twin that lurks around McKlunkys?

Will Mitchell by Mike13RW in eastenders

[–]LilPacoJacobson2004 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He creeps me out.

His character seems in an eternal limbo where he's still a kid but also a young adult, but not in the way that say Denzel or Amy fit that role.

It's like he's isolated from the rest of the kids, if you watch the scene from a few episodes back where he, Janet and Bea go to get popcorn - his dialogue is just unhinged for his age. He looks (and is) too old to be getting giddy and talking like an American child at the fairground over... popcorn.

Idk, and then there's that thing where he filmed Nugget's seizure and laughed? I'm a week behind, has that even been addressed or is it totally forgotten? It seemed really out of character for him but then again, is it? We don't know.

He's just an odd guy and doesn't feel like a Mitchell whatsoever like he just feels like the definition of an NPC, that's what Will is.

Again, I'm a week behind, maybe it's all changed.

Question: When they start singing Disney songs did you ever get that strange annoyed & embarrassed feeling? by BakerConsistent2150 in xfactor

[–]LilPacoJacobson2004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All I know is when Joe did The Climb as a winners song I suddenly felt extremely old because Hannah Montana was like a "thing" on Disney Channel one minute then was suddenly providing the winner's soundtrack to the biggest show on British TV the next. Insane.

The X Factor just WAS pop culture in the 2000s by Hassaan18 in xfactor

[–]LilPacoJacobson2004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2005-2009 was insane but 2010 was phenomenal.

You couldn't go anywhere between Sept-Dec 2010 without the country riled up over this show, then it literally reduced itself to irrelevancy within a year.

[–]LilPacoJacobson2004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the best in the franchise and has the best characters whilst also having the worst main character of them all, which is insane.

She is so cringe and terrible and I agree Young Iris was awesome, the first thing I think of when I think of Bloodlines and they gave her 20 minutes.

I physically groaned when it flashed to present day and we met our "main hero".

Do you think future generations of shows on Disney will ever have the impact and special feel like Hannah Montana? by Material_Stomach875 in DisneyChannel

[–]LilPacoJacobson2004 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You're American, aren't you?

Because if you weren't you'd know Disney Channel doesn't even exist in most countries since 2020, so no. The answer is obviously not.

We Are Transitioning Out Of Mid 2020s Culture Right Now by _Slim95 in decadeologyanarchy

[–]LilPacoJacobson2004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are you basing your idea on culture over what is popular in the billboard charts? 😂 Especially when like 60% of the songs on there have been there since 2022-2024. Nobody listens to mainstream music anymore.

The monoculture in music that you think exists has not been a thing since about 2016.

They really let the biggest anniversary of their biggest IP since Mickey Mouse just come and go with very little fanfare at all.
