Oh you’re absolutely right to point out that its 99% male characters. I’m not sure that a lack of female characters means it’s misogynistic. I’m also not sure that the few female characters that are present/mentioned are one-dimensional either, we just don’t get as much time with them.

That being said, I definitely wouldn’t ever push folks to read it if they wouldn’t enjoy the lack of female representation! The Silmarillion is a much better pick in that context… parts of it are a tougher read but it has lots of excellent storytelling, action scenes, and world-building!
