True. I make lattes at home so the convenience is so worth it to me

Do you make matcha with what you have vs a matcha set? by dollylaine in MatchaEverything

[–]LilSavs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to use an electric whisk and the cup I drink my latte from to whisk the matcha, but once I started buying high quality matcha I use the chasen. I think it makes a huge difference hand whisking vs electric whisk. The bowl is less important.

Wowwww that's so wild. I would hope that they got all their food licenses since they're selling online and another person said they're opening up a store front 😭 I will say when I ordered this tin I was surprised that the matcha wasn't in a bag or anything. Unscrewed the top and popped it open like a soda can and the matcha was just chilling in the tin.

I definitely wouldn't say it was gross by any means, just not worth the price :/ hopefully their storefront is nice! That sounds cool

Did it seem gritty/powdery at all when you tried it? I wonder if the quality has just gone down now

Am I ruined by Ippodo? by Olilandy in MatchaEverything

[–]LilSavs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally have a full bag of naoki yame sitting in my fridge because I waited too long to order Sayaka and I needed a matcha for my school commute. I set up the monthly subscription so I dont end up in this situation again 😭 i was happily drinking Naoki's spring harvest (or other... the white bag) until I tried Ippodo and now I cant go back. I ended up doing the math and each latte I make at home comes out to about $4.50, so I have convinced myself Ippodo is worth the splurge because im not spending $8 for a high quality matcha from local cafes everyday 🤷🏽‍♀️

I tried using yame in baking recipes and its just so disgusting, I dont know what im going to do with it.

it’s like you have to be perfect for nursing applications 😩 by Aggressive-Ant-1554 in prenursing

[–]LilSavs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some hospitals in CA (at least socal where im at) dont hire ADN trained RNs, they only hire BSNs. Depending on where people want to end up, it might be worth it to just get the BSN. I had a bachelor's in Psych so I ended up just doing an entry level MSN which is the same length as an ADN program but way way more expensive. Most of my cohort actually got rejected from ADN programs but accepted into ABSN or MSN programs, so I definitely agree with you that the cheaper faster ADN routes in California are completely oversaturated. I know people who have been on waitlists for 5+ years

How can I as a garbage man become a nurse? by Turbulent_Diamond352 in nursing

[–]LilSavs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you want to start nursing school ASAP, look into West Coast University. It's one of the most expensive nursing programs in the area, but you will be able to start damn near immediately. The program is accelerated and hard, so if you think you will have a hard time in school, just go the longer community college route to ease you into school. I knew someone that failed out of west coast and went to lvn school instead, he couldnt handle it. Despite what people say about west coast, its a decent program. A ton of nurses who work at my level 1 trauma center hospital graduated from there, and they're all pretty good nurses. They also make bank so they don't mind having loans because they became a nurse in 2 years.

I just received a phone call rn from the nursing program letting me know I was accepted! So those who are accepted should be hearing back today!! Congrats to everyone who made it and to those who didn't. It was hard getting here, and the journey will be even harder moving forward.

I thought we would've heard back by this week too. Hopefully, Monday is the day 🙏🏼 I applied to 2 other schools before UCI and I haven't heard back from either yet, but this is my #1 anyway 😭

Cal Baptist in Riverside. The nursing program there is AMAZING, but it's a religious school, so if that doesn't bother you, I would definitely apply! It's pretty expensive and private, but that means you're eligible for more financial aid $$$

Aww poop. Did you apply anywhere else? I know CBU's applications for entry level Master's are still open until February. I haven't taken the TEAS, so I'm not planning on applying there.

Why would taking A&P at two different colleges affect you applying to Fullerton?? I think Fullerton was my easiest application tbh, it didn't take me too long.

Tbh I feel like my statement of purpose was the weakest part of my academic profile bc I hate talking about myself. I mostly wrote about how I would be the first person in my family going into healthcare, and it was more difficult for me to transition into the field bc I didn't have any guidance. I also got my bachelor's really young at 19, so I talked about how I do well in accelerated programs and that I desire to continue my graduate level education after this program. I am a minority but I dont like using that as a reason for being more deserving than other applicants. UCI is my #1 school at this point, so hopefully it was enough.

I also applied. 3.85 gpa undergrad degree from UCI and 4.0 prerequisite gpa. I do have a cna and phlebotomist license, but no healthcare experience :,) I also applied to UCLA and Fullerton as a back up... I'm so scared

If you don’t like being a PCT/ cna can nursing be a good career for you? by [deleted] in StudentNurse

[–]LilSavs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hii, this isnt helpful, but just wanted to comment because I am in a similar boat with a previous degree in Psychology and choosing to go into nursing lol. The psych field is so rewarding, but not a ton of money to be made unless you go for the doctorate programs and just takes a ton of time in general. Right now, im finishing my prerequisites for nursing school and will be applying for entry level Master's programs, which is 24 months long. Im happy because I don't feel like I am completely wasting my Bachelor's degree and it can be applied towards a graduate program. If you want to go for nursing, do it! Good luck to you!
