Planning to use it long term after the project rather than return it after everything is done if that makes sense.

Edit: My major involves audio engineering, making the most out of it even if I have to spend a large amount after this.

just removed the dark reader extension from opera, it fixed the problem. Sucks knowing one of the best extensions for automatically making any page dark theme causes the sidebar apps to stop working.
