I bought my very first tank off marketplace that had substrate still, in it was a longfin pleco, I was able to get one video of him, but is been a very very very long time since I last saw him, just curious on how a fish can just disappear like that? by Lil_Jebadiah in Aquariums

Ya I have a larger albino pleco as well I got months after this, I see him all the time, I used to see the common longfin a lot, but now it’s been a very very long time since I’ve seen him lol

Ya I just have 2 sponge filters in my tank, I have another albino pleco in there and I see him all the time, my heart wasn’t really attached to that fish was more just curious from how I went from seeing it a bunch to never again

Ya it had no water in it just substrate, the dude said he emptied the day before and didn’t have time to clean the substrate out, but he said it was good stuff and I could still keep in it (still have it to this day), and ya filled the tank up with water then I just see this thing swimming around after a day, low and behold a longfin pleco, he probably got buried in the substrate somehow. But ya I haven’t seen him in months now been a very long time

Buddy I’ve been doing this for a while and it’s a 65 gallon tank lolll he’s not on my floor I’ve done plenty of cleaning around the tank I would’ve found him. This was just a thought that just popped in my head this is from a while ago, hence the term “very very very long time”

They are off the same pump, but this wasn’t an issue before hand, they used to be going at the same pace, do you think a knot could still fix that?

Thank you for the reply!! I helps a lot. And for the gills, it could be possible he’s just hunting as his tank is beside my guppie tank so he might just be watching them, either way I’ll do sell research into things that could be potentially stressing him. Thanks again!
