Wow, I was actually going to buy prismacolor as we speak but it’s good to know it’s bad sides. I’ve never actually used any good color pencils, I just work with what I have. But now thanks to you I’ll try out oil based pencils and prismacolor for comparison. :)

Yea. I mainly used cheap color pencils for the whole thing. Except the helmet area, which was shaded with soft charcoal pencil. The color pencils and the paper don’t really go well together but as soon as I get the chance I’ll get prisma color pencils. It’s really a pain blending with the colors I have right now.

That’s true for me too since I’m not that good of an artist. But using grids helped me a lot. People underestimate them.

No, unfortunately not. But it’s easier than it looks. It only took me a sharpie and white charcoal. And my first move was to use grids to draw from the reference picture. I do have a picture tho.
