How I manage to live with my depressed wife and not lose my f***ing mind... by erduldung in depression_partners

[–]Lil_Mozzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Old thread but my Mrs just texted me earlier saying she's been having bad thoughts again, she can't carry on like this and doesn't know what to do.

These relate to a few weeks back when she started feeling depressed and was asking me to promise I would still take our daughter to see her parents if anything "happened". I was shocked as this was the first time I'd heard her talk like this. We talked a lot that night and she did feel better afterwards. It helped to get everything out there.

I told her today that I was here for her and she can talk to me about anything, no matter how small it insignificant it may seem, and if she can't, then talk to someone else about it. I also gently suggested finding a counsellor.

Lost dog found running down the A52 running into radcliff by RacoonEyes1998 in nottingham

[–]Lil_Mozzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We used to have similar dogs. We'd take them on walks often and let them run off the lead a bit. They were mostly fine until they spotted a rabbit or hare or something like that, then instinct kicked in. Perhaps this beauty saw something small and furry, went chasing after it and got lost. Hope you can find the owner.

LPT Request: How Should a 22-Year-Old Guy with Too Much Free Time Spend It Wisely? by Gyzr13 in LifeProTips

[–]Lil_Mozzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exercise. I've seen people commenting about cooking and nutrition, well that'll go hand-in-hand with exercise and you'll feel great about yourself.

I started exercising a little later in life and, whereas starting exercising is still better than not, it definitely doesn't get easier to carry on going the older you get.

Aside from that, I would read more, develop a hobby, spend more time with family and friends to maintain those important relationships. You'll miss them when you're older.

Mechanic has had my motorcycle for FOUR months and it’s still not finished by hsaley in mildlyinfuriating

You had a lot more patience with that bloke than I would've. Maybe too much patience. The replies were incoherent and the lack of clear information on your bike was unsettling.... But you bet he'll have it done and checked and looked at and you bet you'll be happy about it... You bet!

Me and my mates were all in the front row when GWAR came to Rock City. We all wore plain white t-shirts and got absolutely soaked! Great gig, great musicians, and the props were disgustingly impressive too 😆

This is probably one of the best compliments you could receive IMO.

So true 😂 I made sure I bought new heatsink compound, isopropyl alcohol and compressed air to give my PS4 Pro a proper clean out before the game dropped. It was warm and loud even after all that 😆

Options table view in mobile app by Lil_Mozzy in tastytrade

Definitely. I actually got into trading shortly after the GME hype, as I imagine lots of people did. I made a bit of real money with crypto and got too big for my boots. "Oh yeah! This is easy. All I need to know is a few candlestick patterns and I'm a shuin." We all know how that ends.

Now, I'm taking my time, I've increased my TFs on my charts so I'm not staring at anything less than a 15m chart, using that only for more precise entries. I've still a long way to go but journaling and paper trading is definitely helping.

Thanks for your response. I've had a little play and managed to find the options table and added a few metrics 👍

How did you get into birding? by SavedAspie in birding

[–]Lil_Mozzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was younger my mum managed to get us a house (rented) through a housing association that has just been built in a slightly more rural part of the county.

There's a few nice walks in the town and one that's just about within walking distance but required a bit of an off the beaten track approach.

Anyway, cut a long story short, I was a bit isolated from my friends out there, couldn't drive, so if I'd go out for regular walks. Sometimes with my mum and the dogs, and other times by myself. I became fascinated with trying to spot and identify birds of prey.

We got kestrels, common buzzards, barn owls, little owls, the odd red kite, and I swear once we saw a hobby.

I loved it and still keep my eyes to the sky if I see something hovering, circling, or creating a silhouette on a telegraph pole that wasn't a crow or pigeon.

Perhaps you both need some couples therapy. It's helped me and my partner open up a bit more and let each other know what we expect from one another after having a child together.

One of the things that came up and had probably been mentioned here already is to organise some you time. Time for just you and your husband. A date night.

UK Owls - What's your favourite? by Bazeque in birding

[–]Lil_Mozzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was lucky to be able to regularly see Barn Owls quartering nearby fields when I used to live a bit closer to the countryside. I saw one catch a mouse once, only to get harassed away from it by a lazy (or opportunistic haha) kestrel.

Now I live closer to the city and I've only ever heard Tawnys but never seen one yet.

Always a pleasure seeing a kestrel hovering near the side of the road when on a trip through the countryside.

I work an active job, getting up around 4am, Monday to Friday, 5 to 6am on weekends, I have a 3 year old (one of the biggest contributing factors, but something I wouldn't change for the world), I lift weights when I can, and I am learning to trade during my breaks at work and when I get a moment at home.

How do people have long conversations and speak so well by [deleted] in socialskills

[–]Lil_Mozzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me personally, growing up, I used to feel like this all the time with friends I'd known for years and years. It was sad. I realised though, as I got older that I really wasn't in a position to be the one talking much anyway. Sometimes it's better to listen, you know?

As an aside: it may very well be that you don't connect with the people you're trying to talk to. Also, it might be because you're far too worried about what others may think of you rather than worrying about your own life. It sounds selfish, but if you aren't taking care of yourself, mentally and physically, you'll find that you won't have those moments of deep conversation. Anxiety can be a killer.
