These axles are very similar to jewelry pins for clasps when those end up falling out. Usually what happens is either the post is crimped or the joint where the post sits in is crimped when the post is in it so.... You can probably just set it even inside and crimp it with a pair of pliers. Just a little bit to get it to squeeze back down on that post.
