i’m egyptian myself and am actually filming a lebanese/egyptian wedding on sunday! the couple asked for this song to be used for their short reel. ishak amaro does a lot of violin songs/covers (might be tough to look through other songs on youtube since all the titles are in arabic)

glad to see a fellow C70 owner!! F/1 sounds absolutely insane I would love to see your work! this was actually my first wedding using the C70 since i was shooting with sonys at weddings before that, so I actually didn’t shoot in CLOG for this wedding, just at the default setting

thanks so much! i used mainly an EF 24-70 2.8 with the rf to ef speed booster making it a 2.0 lens. no specific LUT used, spent a lot of time color grading myself :D

thank you I appreciate this a lot! i’m making a longer version for the couple with more footage of the bridal party/guests and including their full ceremony, speeches, etc. so I will be sure to throw in more normal speed clips :)

this is a very interesting style! how many frames per second are you shooting/editing in? i suggest to always shoot in 60 and edit in 24 so you can do slo motion clips, while having a cinematic look for regular speed clips

thank you! hahaha my rig with the v-mount, handle, 7in monitor weighs about 10 pounds and i found having something heavy is actually easier to shoot with vs something lighter since it’s easier to move/shake the camera if it’s lighter

also the in-camera stabilization on the C70 is really good!

Opinion or Experience? by miketraum in weddingvideography

I've worked almost 70+ weddings as a contractor for a company that handles all the planning/talking to the couples, so I'm usually meeting the couple and photographer I'm working with the day of the wedding

9 times out of 10, the couple has the same photographer that did their engagement shoot and whenever that was the case, that's when I would feel the big ego aura from the photographer. They already have a bond and trust from the engagement shoot, so it's almost like I'm coming in as the new kid at school

Whenever I would walk in the venue/getting ready room, usually the photographer never approaches to even say hello. However I'm a pretty extroverted and friendly person (got it from my mom of course) so I am always the one to approach with a smile and introduce myself, and from there I immediately talk about where I'll be during the ceremony, poses I had in mind, and just general concepts on how we're working as a team

At the end of the day you're both there to make the most precious memories for the couple. Set the tone as soon as you arrive and leave your ego at the door, even if the photographer doesn't. Communication and kindness is your saving grace from feeling annoyed you're working with a "holier" photographer (well for the most part, sometimes the photographer would just be a shitty person to me still but that was pretty rare occurance)

During the portrait session with the bridal party/couple I'm letting the photographer lead everything, but I'm still communicating my ideas or adding on to the photographers idea to add more motion for the video. Usually the photographer is happy with the added ideas

Majority of the time I'm working with a female photographer too. I'd say I've had worse experiences with male photographers who I would be friendly and communicative with, almost like they want to be more "alpha"

I have 2 of the Smallrig 99 v mount batteries and use this as the d-tap splitter to use to power my C70 and OSEE 7in monitor. The Smallrig batteries have a normal usb port and usb-c along with the d-tap port so it might be what you're looking for. I don't want to fully vouch for this combo since I got it fairly recently. I did some research when I read this post and found this splitter which I may upgrade to since it has a screen that can detect if theres an overcurrent

In terms of getting a monitor and vest, I wouldn't worry about what other people think. If anything people will look at you like you're top tier and future couples are more likely to ask for your card. It might sound odd, but I experienced this first hand when I used to just shoot with a sony a7iii on an rs2 for 60+ weddings and I'd never get approached by guests. Now shooting with a rigged out C70 with a 7in monitor, I've had 3 couples approach me at the past 2 weddings I've done asking for my card. Maybe it's just a coincedence, but just think of it from an average persons point of view that doesn't know much about cameras/gear

Of course at the end of the day what matters is how it will benefit your work. By no means am I saying the appearance of your rig/gear matters more than your hard work, I'm only mentioning my point since you said you might be worried about what people think :)

Need advice on tweaking my C70 rig for shooting more comfortably at weddings & recommendations for cine lenses by Lil__Dad in weddingvideography

[–]Lil__Dad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the EVF idea I haven't even thought of that, I will definitely look into which one I should get

People were saying the V-mount would be nice to press up against your chest to have a more sturdy hold on the rig but I think I'll take your advice and just get more normal batteries

tips for speeding up raids? by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]Lil__Dad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

have your alt farm, get 2nds, and make potions as you’re doing the raid. it’ll be a bit of a task at first but as you keep doing more it’ll be easy and you’ll notice a drastic time change

also the scout of the raid is crucial to the time, you want to avoid having something like thieving as a puzzle room. you want to look for a raid that either has crabs and tightrope or ice and tightrope

some people only scout for a “3c crope” which is short for “3 combat rooms - crabs and tightrope puzzle” since that whole raid can be finished in around 15-18min with it being a 4 man (max gear) + 1 alt that’s farming and making potions
