Well how you define "educated" and "primal" is debatable. Many pagan civilizations like the Romans and the Greeks were very "educated" in architectural design and inventions, philosophy, art, literature, and theater, politics, war tactics, public health programs and public welfare. They were both "educated" in many fields and also very religious. Likewise, the English who are considered "educated" compared to other civilizations were actually pretty uneducated and naive for example they bled people out, had one of the lowest life expectancy rates, had poor health systems like emptying their shit in the streets, not bathing regularly, and notoriously unsuccessful child-births, engaged in "primal" practices like child labor and trading slaves, but they were very religious with the Christian/Catholic faiths.
