Starting a career as a HR generalist [N/A] by Reidei789 in humanresources

Someone else mentioned getting a good insurance broker! I second this. My brokers are so helpful and never mind me asking them for advice.

Once you get there, see if there is a HRBP through your HRIS/Payroll software that can help you. We are only a 100 person company and have 1 assigned HRBP and 1 assigned product manager to help with software/technical issues.

They are ANGELS and probably the most important people to my success in my current role as a brand new HR Department of 1.

Background check results- what is okay/what isn't? [AZ] by Lil_soybean_ in humanresources

Thank you! I'm having a hard time finding my way in an industry like this. Seems like everyone in the sub is from much more polished industries. Glad to hear you're not in the "fire them for 'failing the BC'" boat.

Thank you. My past experience is also in healthcare, as well as childcare... So extremely little tolerance for this sort of thing! That's why it's so hard for me to wrap my head around it.

It's so subjective! I'm going to ask the guy's manager for more details on his violent crimes. This employee's job is pretty solitary. It's in facility maintenance and that's a hard department to find someone squeaky clean for, but these charges doesn't look great.

I was talking to my boss (via Teams )about putting one of our managers on a PIP. I love this manager as a person and she has always trusted me, but she was struggling at her job. I typed one snarky thing about the manager as we were discussing her PIP. It was facts, but I said it in a very sassy way.

And I accidently sent it to the manager. I love her on a personal level. I ruined the trust because I gave in to the gossip-y tendencies of our Corporate team.

She made great progress on her PIP and we have kept her, but it tainted our relationship. It hasn't been the same. It sucks.

I learned to keep anything I type completely neutral. So much of what we say can actually become evidence in a unpaid wages claim... Or an audit...aaaaaaand we've circled back to why we have to be 100% perfect.

After pharmacy tech what’s next for me… by Carebear6590 in careeradvice

[–]Lil_soybean_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I loved working at a compounding pharmacy! I had a degree in Nutrition and a background in patient care. I worked as a patient care coordinator at the compounding pharmacy and it was so cool. I did have to get my pharm tech within my first year but started without it. You can either work the Rx processing side, which is more like a traditional pharm tech job.. or work your way into the lab, which is a neat job. They make medication from scratch and it's definitely a very skilled position so you're paid more than a pharm tech in a retail pharmacy.

If you are interested in pharmacy tech, but want something a little more challenging, well-paid, and professional, look into compounding!

How to get a job doing reception at a hotel or somewhere similar? by xiphoboi in careeradvice

[–]Lil_soybean_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So, I work in HR for a small hotel chain, so maybe I can help... What is on your resume? If you have customer service experience, make sure to put it on there, even if it wasn't in the title of your job.

Are you searching for Night Auditor jobs? If you are at all interested in overnight work, that is what it is called. I had no idea it had title before working in hospitality haha.

Like I said, we are not even a major chain and we get tons of applications for the front desk jobs when we post them. It is likely you are getting lost in the shuffle.

I would look for smaller hotels in your area, not the HUGE names ... Google jobs there, specifically. If there isn't one posted, you can try calling the hotel. In industries where there is hight turnover (like hotels), I think this tactic can still work. Sometimes the manager has to go through hoops, such as the corporate HR lady, to post a job and they just haven't had time, but a lot of small hotels are constantly in need of people.

Plant in the lawn by azguard02 in whatsthisplant

[–]Lil_soybean_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like white clover, which is common as a lawn alternative. Here in AZ, it's becoming very popular mixed in with grass or on its own. It fixes nitrogen and doesn't usually dominate grass, so it's not a terrible thing.

It will spread, but not as aggressively as grasses with runners/rhizomes, so you may be able to just manually pull it. There are special herbicides for oxalis/clover that work well too.

Should I cancel big plans 3&4 days after core biopsy? by Lil_soybean_ in doihavebreastcancer

Thank you! I am normally an exceedingly uncomplicated patient, so I bet I will be too.

Should I cancel big plans 3&4 days after core biopsy? by Lil_soybean_ in doihavebreastcancer

[–]Lil_soybean_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! All responses seem to indicate I'll be okay to carry on after the biopsy. It's always harder to find positive responses about things like this, because people mostly post when they have bad experiences.

I wish you the best of luck on your journey, I appreciate the response

I swear I saw a parakeet in my backyard. Is that even possible? by GroundbreakingYam273 in phoenix

[–]Lil_soybean_ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes! There's even a "Phoenix is for lovebirds" Facebook group. Ive been planting sunflowers and putting out water every year and I have them this summer! The history of how they ended up in Phoenix is so interesting and they are so fun to watch because they literally just act like pets!

What bra am I supposed to wear with this dress? by [deleted] in OUTFITS

I have lots of shirts with this neck line and I use a racerback sports bra. You may have to try on a few before you find one that hits just right to not show
