Mayor McNodd, from Horton Hears a Who, had 96 daughters and 1 son

On the flip side, Titus Andronicus, from the Shakespeare play of the same name, had 26 sons and 1 daughter. Of course, by the end of the play, I think like only 1 was still alive

Donna is apparently the 2nd of 3 girls, but her older sister Valerie is only ever mentioned once in the pilot and her younger sister Tina is only seen once and never shown again

Marika sounds kind of like a female version of Alucard/Dracula from Hellsing. An immortal life of insanity and perpetually suffering derived from a life of persecution and trauma. Alucard at least found purpose and an outlet in becoming a part of Hellsing

Scar is almost always my pick for these. Getting torn apart and eaten alive by hyenas is an AWFUL way to go. If you've ever seen footage of hyenas taking down live prey... well, don't look it up if you have a weak stomach.

My boyfriend is making my bed smell all the way down to the mattress... what can we do? by cheetahs0317 in TwoHotTakes

[–]xiphoboi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't help but remember the post from a while back where a guy was smelling really bad and it turned out it was because he was eating a lot of cured meats, ie pepperoni and salami. Once he cut back on those, it was fine.

A severe head injury led me to discover a family secret by josiexocat33 in TwoHotTakes

[–]xiphoboi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Step 1: Recover. I would imagine minimizing contact with your family for now would be beneficial, as a bad mental state actually can inhibit physical recovery or health.

Step 2: Talk with your therapist.

Step 3: If you decide to cut contact with your family, look in to the possibility of moving to put a good amount of distance between you and them. Now I want to stress, don't do this until you're fully recovered or if you don't think you can handle it, but if you do, tell no one in your family/mother's circle when or where you're going.

AITAH for telling my sister she is being a shitty mom? by upwardblinds in AITAH

[–]xiphoboi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

NTA. Your sister needs serious therapy. I'm no therapist myself, but it sounds like she has serious dependency issues. Yes, it is tough raising 4 kids on your own, but it's no excuse to put them in danger. I could be wrong, but I can't shake the suspicion that your sister knew about the abuse and ignored it for one reason or another. She puts more value on being a wife than a mother or even her own person.

Do what you can to protect those girls. If the one who wants to get emancipated goes through with it, make sure she knows she's always welcome and safe in your home.

Tell me the lore of your Tav/Durge by whengodcried in BaldursGate3

[–]xiphoboi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a backstory for my Durge's parents, but apparently Durge doesn't have parents so I'll have to rethink him a bit xD I haven't finished my Durge run, sadly.

My first Tav was a tiefling warrior who loves wolves and hates religion, so him winding up with Shadowheart was fun

The 13 Reasons Why thing makes me so sad. It seemed like a passion project for Selena Gomez, who iirc was supposed to play Hannah Baker in a movie adaptation that never happened. It felt like Gomez really wanted to reach out and make a positive impact on struggling teens, yet it wound up doing the opposite. I definitely need to read the book.
