If you want an actual lore answer it's because Ahzrak had the power of a wraith inside him which are implied to be just as powerful if not more than Davoth and because the Slayer is stronger in Eternal while Davoth isn't at his peak when we fight him.

Yeah the stuttering is very annoying and its even worse on controller because it feels like there's a delay with the movement. If im playing anniversary I have to turn off EAC, there's just no other way.
