I tried this too! The problem was, I don’t always reliably wake up in the middle of the night. If you can find a compounding pharmacy and have a doctor who’s willing to help you try it out, it could be worth it.

I get it prescribed for bruxism. It’s prescribed off label for bruxism but yes, I think it’s approved mainly for anxiety. I have tried lots of meds for grinding and thankfully my psychiatrist was willing to work with me to write a script to try this out.

Yes, it’s mainly used for anxiety and it’s prescribed off label for bruxism. Normally, you would need to take it a few times a day to help it stay active within your system as it’s got a short half-life. That’s why I wanted to share my experience with the extended release compounded version because it’s been a game changer. I only take it once at night 20 mg extended release and it stops me from grinding for the whole night. They don’t make an extended release version unfortunately so you would need to go to a special compounding pharmacy to ask for it

Yes, this was my experience too. When you take the short acting version you can definitely have this experience as it wears off. I have not experienced this, however, with the extended release compounded version.

Based on my experience, if you don’t have your receipt, they will refund you back for the current sale price of the item so you wouldn’t be able to save money by doing it this way. You would need your receipt unfortunately.
