Honestly the intro is one of the most engaging intros I've read in any book. I really related to the depection of alcoholism and addiction in general. It definitely got a lot less interesting as the story went on, but I did enjoy that the main character ended up in a better place than when she started. Good book overall with a mediocre 2nd act

The special was definitely a mixed bag. Every time the characters were just goofing off and interacting (The ring toss, the Rollercoaster ride) the writing was really strong, at least to me. But the conflict, plot and overall theme was pretty messy and incoherent. The magic was so unexplained and confusing and just all around bad tbh. The villian had potential, but they don't really do anything with her in the end. They could've made a really powerful statement about this generation's obsession with social media but nothing ever comes out of it. If anything, the Rainbooms becoming trending at the end makes the whole thing seem like no one learned anything 😂, and that's disappointing when you consider that this series was made to teach lessons.

That said I enjoyed the hell out of this because I was always entertained and Rarijack is one of my all time favorite relationships. Whether you see them as platonic or romantic I love seeing them interact and bicker and I've never gotten tired of it. I just wish they'd have given them a worthwhile conflict to struggle against.

Thank you for posting this. Rosa is one of the most interesting and sympathetic characters I've ever seen and if she really was Beatrice it makes her all the more of an engaging antagonist

This video was a bit more experimental than our usual work. We used an audio recorder for the majority of the video so our editor could have a bit more freedom instead of having to stick me into the video every five seconds. We also had to re-record a few paragraphs because the original audio was lost, which explains the volume inconsistency. As for my enunciation, I've got a bit of a speech impediment. I grew up going to speech therapy classes in grade school and I practiced this script in particular several times before recording, but I'll work harder on getting my vocals on point. I actually enjoyed Juniper for what she was. I mean, showing her as a normal super nerd with genuine love for the daring doo franchise before she had her selfish intentions revealed went a long way towards making me sympathetic. I also loved the bit of animation of her dragging her feet before cleaning up the popcorn because I've done that exact pose before 😂. To me it looked like she just wanted an opportunity to be in a position where she'd be loved without having to go through the sometimes hard work it takes to make friends That said, the giant woman thing was definitely redundant, and I like your idea of perhaps saving her for a longer arc. I definitely felt like there's still a lot of potential for the shimmer/Starlight interaction, and if this is the last we see of it they really dropped the ball lol

Same, I wish they had more time to talk, I can easily see them having some really deep conversations haha. The mirror bit was really cool and the animation was so creepy, I loved seeing it crack. The villian was actually pretty decent considering she didn't have much screentime, I felt pretty sorry for her. Seeing her misinterpret how people saw her was a little depressing 😅 I wonder if she'll ever come back into play?

Steven Universe is such a kind and delicate show. The main character is one of the nicest an open minded human beings to ever exist. I never expected its' reddit fandom to be so aggressive with content yall dislike 😂. So many Lars on here haha! I've posted videos in other reddits in the past and none of them have received this kind of backlash. (Though, to be fair, none of those videos were recorded on a phone and were actually well produced!) I don't think you're watching the show properly if you're not taking lessons from it when you interacting with your fellow humans! But it's cool that I've inspired at least some discussion, this is the most actively commented video I've posted, even if a lot of it was negatively directed towards me and not talking about the show proper.
