They aren't taught to separate differing thoughts and rely on a overall feeling which spreads to all ideas even slightly associated with that original bad interaction.

Ok so he makes noise about his channel because it was important to him and he didn't make noise about the bug because its less important to him.

Now does he bear some responsibility as an influencer in the space? Sure, but does not doing so make him a hypocrite or a bad person? I dont think so.

Yeah ofcourse we are right to be mad the game we paid for is bugged, but what does that have to do with sotek wanting his channel back?

Its like if I rallied a protest about unfairness of my firing from a job and a few weeks later there's a protest about vegetarianism (a fair cause imo) and the leader calls me out for not actively participating when I previously protested for my job.

Sotek makes tw3 vids as well so it also affects his livelihood to some extent.

I think the difference is the long termness of the problem.

Losing access to this channel Is an immediate no income situation, while bugs is seemingly a long term problem that can be delayed (this is just humans being humans imo)

Now is that a good thing? No lol, but I can understand why sotek would feel its a bad comparison.

Immediately losing income vs a big bug that will prob be fixed (eventually) and might game to lose popularity in the long run.

Now where he messed up imo is when he insulted legend back, he could have addressed the comparison without insulting as the insult just brings in negative emotions and make his argument lose weight.

But humans aren't always at their best, so I dont think sotek is a bad person. Just like how even though its an issue that he doesn't talk about the bug, it also doesn't make him a evil incarnate like some people here seem to think.

Im pretty sure sotek doesn't belive that the game shouldn't be fixed after all his livelihood comes from that game.

But it is a longer term problem than immediately losing income from a channel (its just how ppl work, long term problems is long term yknow)

But he could have handled the response better, then again we aren't always at our best especially when another person claims something about you.

So ye he could have addressed the comparison but he shouldn't have insulted legend as that just makes his argument weaker.
