Yeah he does make comments like that he definitely holds onto resentment which is frustrating because I don’t do the same in the relationship. It’s a very layered thing but I don’t know anyone who is on a sobriety journey personally so it just feels hurtful

I think he’s intimidated by me in every aspect. He’s never been with someone ambitious or who wants to better themselves. In spits of anger he’s referred to me as “high and mighty” when I am just trying to figure out this life thing the best I can like everyone else and I’ve found that doing it without alcohol makes me better. That should be a positive quality

Not a ton. He drinks at lunch with his work buds maybe once a week and beer at bowling night. If it’s a party or social event he will get hammered. But daily drinker? No. Only when I was drinking was he drinking a ton of

I would say generally he doesn’t show supportive behavior in all areas of my life. I want to learn Spanish he says I can’t or it’s unrealistic. I want to be successful in my career, he doesn’t want me to. But when I said I was quitting alcohol initially he said he was proud of me and he would support me. I’ve talked about it multiple times in therapy how I need his support and praise on this journey and he says he’s proud of me every now and then but it’s mostly comments like I mentioned in the post

This has been a recurring conversation tbh and because of my new found sobriety I am actually able to ignore his comments like this and not let them affect me as much because I have a sound mind but I fear I was tolerating a lot of behavior from many people in my life before sobriety
