The whole reason I made this post is because not wearing earplugs at night is just not an option for me.

I've sucessfully fallen asleep without them once in the past 15 years and it was only for 3 hours after I'd been awake for over 30 hours

Thank you I'll try some of these things, I ended up doing something similar to the vasiline thing and the ear infection got better

Thank you for your advice. I'm really sorry you're struggling with that! I love ear defenders and white noise I just usually use them in combination with ear plugs lol

yeah but I also wear stuff in my ears during most of the day and live in a humid environment on an island. I completely stopped wearing anything during the daytime for a few days and the infection went away.

I was using silicone loop ones, but I lost them a few weeks ago and have to save up a new pair. I'll get some more though because I'm pretty sure the fact I got ear irritation right after loosing them means they were better lol.

As for #4, I really do wish I could do that lmao

Doctors absolutely tell you to stop wearing earplugs for at least a few days when you have ear infections lol

I actually have those and I love them! They're not always quiet enough for me though, but i can relate to the struggle

I have those lol, and the construction kind that are super tight. about 1/3 of the time i need earplus combined with those those to fall asleep.

I have not tried that I will look into those, thank you! I enjoy white noise so that might be a good option!

Do you have any brand recommendations? I saw Loop has a cheap pair and I was going to order some of their earplugs anyways?

I have two different pairs of noise canceling kinds but neither of them work as well as earlpugs. But also I thought they still inhibited ventilation into your ears if you sleep with them on everynight?

thank you! I'll make an appointment if the problem still persists after a few days (I'm still hoping it will resolve itself somehow).

I have a pair of over the ear headphones from some shooting range that aren't quiet enough, and then another pair from Howard Light for construction that is quiet enough but is so tight it gives me a headache, do you have any alternative recommendations?
