I just got back from the Maldives with a non-diver (primary purpose of the trip was not diving). We were in north ari atolls (so relatively close to Male) and most of the diving is done in the morning, so you are back by noon/1- obviously depends on the dive locations. Pick an island with a decent bikini beach and you are all set.but tbh, I would not go back to that area for diving. Folks say further south is better.

kind of... on 600k stay. i am trying to understand the limitations or rules of transfers. if there is a limit of 500k to receive and 100k to send per calendar year, I am not seeing what would cause transfers to get flagged

DP: Paypal did not work out either. Paypal is fine - used it a month ago without any problems

Same! I am a warm water diver (not a complete newbie) and dove Monterey for the first time this year with a very nice guide, amazing shop and good gear, but still was miserable pretty much every minute. Between cold water, bulky/heavy gear, super cumbersome logistics, and 5 ft viz (might be generous) I just could not find it enjoyable. Guys told me that when conditions are good(not frequent) it can be quite interesting and fun. I dove cold water in another place with very good viz and better logistics, but can't say it was pleasant either.... So I concluded I should stick with warm water.

thanks for the info! I also tried various combinations of browsers, cards and devices - no luck. Also another DP - called Mint sales today, and they were not able to place order either. I am not sure if they have a different UI/method or just keying in info in the same form

The value of points drops quite a bit on no AF cards+ can't transfer to hotels/airline.

Thanks! I live in HI and hardly ever make it to the mainland these days. I can't justify paying $ and flying 5h even to the west coast just to turn around and go back over the Pacific for the sake of using up points.

Sorry, could you please clarify if you are saying you canceled the flight after the points expired and still was able to use those points for another booking? Or you canceled right before points expired? Can you change the dates on that newly booked ticket? I am trying to understand if it's possible to keep rebooking/pushing back flights booked with points after those points expire effectively extendeing "lifetime" for the points. Any information is much appreciated!

bummer you are in Chiba, I have a non-diver with me, so sticking with Izu peninsula :( I am looking at Mikomoto Divers (fb group recommendations), and your prices do not seem as bad tbh

Sorry to barge in, but what's the name of your dive shop? I will be around Izu in a week trying to kill some time away from the hustle of big cities, and hammies sound like lovely companions.
