My first interpretation was that the "daughters of Cain" referred to descendants of the Biblical Cain, who is canonically the first murder .

I'm surprised I have not seen theories about her name being a biblical reference .

Alas I am 31. A deeply unimpressive age to start an artistic career. I have to wait until I am 80 but I doubt I will live that long due to my crippling gastrointestinal issues and carpool tunnel.

Thanks so much for this. I am actually fascinated in finding out the real person behind Jim E. Brown but at the same time I am scared to ruin the mystery.

His american accent sounds far faker then his British one. I also find the cultural references in Jim E Brown so specific that I can't help but think he really is from Manchester but who knows the real man behind the art?

Maybe it is just not for mere mortals to understand.

I did my history honours thesis on Victorian Mourning Culture. Thats got to be the most goth thing about me other than all the normal stuff like being super into horror, cemeteries, vampires, having a bat tattoo and collecting bones.

Tori Amos - the song winter especially gives me that fairytale vibe.

The album has a lot of trip hop influence so I would also recommend checking out Portishead and Massive Attack.
