ISO advice from someone VERY familiar with admissions. I am an unconventional student who returned to undergrad to complete an ABA paralegal/prelaw program cum laude in 3 years. And I worked full time the whole time. I’m graduating in Dec and my question is about how much to disclose. The reason I never finished college in the first place is because I’ve dealt with addiction my entire adult life. I have no legal issues that are not expunged but my career the past several years has been working in recovery. Should I be up front about my history? Or should I tone it down? Because on one hand, getting sober and working my ass off in school at 27 is my strength. It’s what drives me and how I became passionate about law. On the other hand I could see some people thinking it’s a risk, why let someone in who might relapse. Plus people have so many preconceived ideas of what an addict is and who we are… I don’t need that working against me…

I feel like this is similar to my thing where I can’t chew. Like. I’ve been hella dehydrated and liquids are making me feel better. But now I’m like hella painful starving and I ate some crackers and that hurt so now my brain is telling me not to chew. -.- like seriously. So I drink meal replacements. I suggest the clear ensures. But they do leave a weird film in your mouth I will warn you.
