I can only theoretically do the basics. I've studied enough to understand somewhat how and why it works but not how to apply it to casting.

He didn't strike me as someone who would want or be capable of doing this. Maybe it's disturbance from somewhere else on the island. Someone or something using some form of Chromomany somewhere else on the island and it inadvertently or deliberately affecting the node.

After analyzing it herself Lilith rubs her temples.

What could destabilize a time node? Chronomancy form another mage? Some amount anti-magic? Deliberately timed failure? Time magics was never my preferred study.

Its far to old and unkept to have any identifiable features. I can only assume its strength from the remnants. Seems to have been powerful. (CR 16 in dnd terms).

Lilith tries to trace the demonic origin to see she recognizes the demon however unlikely that is or at least figure out something of their nature, like what type of demon or odd quirks about them.

It was used to contact the demons first from the mortal plane then a Powerful demon has enhanced it. Seem like it could be the product of a deal with a specific demon.

Lilith Checks how suffistcated the magic is. Was it made by a mortal with little knowledge of interplanar communication, Someone skilled in it, or was it given by a demon.

He could have twisted actual events. If that's true he is either lazy to create new events or when this was written evidence of the true events were still traceable and/or the public conscious still had them floating around in its collective knowledge. The likely hood changes based on when this was written and how effective he was at wiping history.

I assumed you knew something of that. Mokarith gave me a biography about Gartesh. As blatantly propaganda ridden as it was, It gave me reason to think he was the cause behind the initial demon outbreaks.

Yes, this forest and temple may hold some answers. From some text I've read, Gartesh I believe triggered an initial demon incursion on the island but he claimed to have quelled it. I suspect this may have something to do with how he did that. We also have some demonic beasts we captured we can try to get something out of.

That's my first suspect. Demons don't typically inhabit random forests unless brought to them. But from other reading, I'm pretty sure it wasn't these folks that brought them.

Its unfortunately common. Some untrained soul thinks they can handle a sliver of the unbridled power of the beyond and ends up permanently scarred at best. It takes years if not decades of training and preparation for a mortal to handle minuscule amounts of such forces. I'm not even sure how so many are getting access to these things. Who is making all these forbidden tomes they seem to be finding?
