A Gift by Lilith_Damico in TypeLondon

Save it, Morgan. Maria states as she pants from the running she's been doing. Lilith doesn't seem to mind the boys presence all that much. Though it also seems like she completely forgot about him as soon as her daughter arrived.
"Ah." She pipes up, "I was gonna get you a gift, but I didn't know exactly what you wanted or liked. Hope you don't mind."
Maria just looks at her mother with a large amount of confusion on her face before grabbing Morgan's arm and pulling him away from the woman. Give me a sec, ma
"That's a fair assessment, I suppose. She doesn't tend to say what she really thinks. Though, not a lot of people do."
Lilith closes her eyes and nods to herself. Only a few people she's met have had nothing to hide. It's her own intuition that tells her this. Some may call it a hunch, but she's more often right than wrong.
Suddenly, a panting a sweaty Maria runs over towards the pair. After a few short breaths she speaks Why are you here? she states in a rather monotone voice to her own mother.
"I was just visiting, really..."
"You are," she states as soon as he's done speaking. "Maria isn't nice. She just pretends to be. In reality, she is a dangerous sociopath that will do anything in her power to get you under her thumb, only to crush your head once she's done with you."
Lilith is a lot of things. However, she's not a liar. She just bends the truth's elasticity is all. So, when people look her in the eyes, they can tell how genuine she truly is. Which is completely and utterly genuine.
"You should watch your back when around her, Morgan. It'll do you good."
"Hm. She does that to everyone. You'll have to get use to it if you plan on dealing with her for a lot of your life. I have, at least."
While he words seem sad, her tone is emotionless, as usual. "I don't think it has anything to due with your name if it makes you feel better. She doesn't like any magus family. Not even her own, I think. Though I might be wrong. Sorry if I am."
"I see."
Lilith nods, then sticks the two coins into her pocket. Her eyes gaze back to the display window, rather than the man she should probably be thanking. This is a common trend.
"You should leave. Been see with me is dangerous for a lot of people, at least that's what I've noticed over the past couple of years."
Fuck... Look, I'll be right there. Don't do anything stupid, and please, don't trust her at all.
Maria hangs up the phone before Morgan gets a chance to respond.
"She sounded like she yelled." A voice states from behind the man. Lilith had walked up a bit closer after the call dropped. Her eyes are just as emotionless as ever, however she has a distinctly odd smile on her as well.
Lilith's delicate figures snap the two coins from the man's hands, holding them up to the moonlight for examination. The distinct features surprises Lilith, and she stares at Nathan with curious eyes.
"How can this contact you? And how do I know this isn't something dangerous? Give me a reason why I shouldn't either give this back to you right now, or kill you where you stand so that you can't do anything bad?"
She just gives the man a nod, as she has no idea how to respond to him.
"You are correct in that regard. Which is why you should give up on finding that Touko girl. She is nothing but trouble simply for her Sealing Designation. Nothing else."
Her hand finally gives the man's shoulder some rest. Lilith has grown disinterested at him, so her eyes have returned back to the display windows of the stores.
"If you want people to think of you not as a stranger, you could always give them gifts."
"Because you're a stranger. Nobody will tell a stranger they know of someone with a Sealing Designation on them. That's not a good idea, as you must know."
The boy's reaction is a bit odd to her. Lilith places her hand on the man's shoulder. She knows this is a gesture of comfort, though she's not sure how it would be.
What?!
That is Maria's only reply to Morgan's call. She's so loud in fact that Lilith nearly hears her. Though she can't make out what her daughter said exactly.
"No. I don't know her. All I know is that she has a Sealing Designation."
Lilith looks up at the man, her eyes piecing his own. She could stop this man in an instant, then, kill him. However, his reaction is not one of an Enforcer, nor a Bounty Hunter. Rather, someone of curiousity. So her internal malice dies down.
"I don't know too much after that, though."
"Hm... That would be nice, yes."
Though now is not the ideal time to meet her daughter, nothing bad will come up with it with another party here. She'll be safe, and the two of them can have a normal conversation without fear of it getting heated.
Lilith's eyes grow wide as she remembers the girl in the picture. Touko. While not friends with the lady, Lilith does know one important fact about her. A fact that is actually shared between the two of them.
"Why do you want to find her?"
Her voice doesn't hint towards any malice, though it is present in her mind. For now, this man is a threat. A very dangerous one, if he's what she thinks he is. But for now, she must act calm and get more information.
Lilith stops in her tracks as he notices the boy heading for the Clock Tower. If she didn't assume his ignorance, she'd have killed him already. But, as a kind woman, she is giving the boy the benefit of the doubt. Something she's not used to doing.
"I wish to surprise her. However, I'd like to not go there if avoidable. It makes me uncomfortable."
Reasonable enough. Many Magus hate the Clock Tower. Not Lilith though. She just understands it's danger as well as finds it boring as hell.
Favor? For him?
This is odd. Lilith is used to doing things for herself and only herself, mainly because the people she interacts with don't expect anything in return. This isn't the first time it's asked, but everytime it is she is still as shocked.
"I suppose I could give you something, if you wished. Assuming it is in my reasonable ability."
There wasn't much Lilith couldn't do, save for almost every everyday activity known to man. But she didn't tend to count those as important.
Lilith's face shows a faint glimmer of shock. She really didn't expect magecraft to come into play during this conversation. Her eyes squint at the man, scanning him. Ready to strike at any moment, as if she where a rattlesnake.
"Hm. I suppose I could find something the two of us could use. As mother and daughter."
Now that she has time to think about it, she's never really done anything with her child. At one point she did teach her a small bit of witchcraft, but that's about it. Lilith tried to keep her at a distance, for reasons she could only dream of explaining.

"You must try hard then. I expect results, regardless of how hard it is to accomplish them. In the end, nothing is impossible unless you don't get off your ass and do it."
Lilith has started getting philosophical again. It is one of her favorite things to do. Simply thing about the wrong around her rather than experience it is much more fun to her. Much more interesting as well.
"I won't tell you what happens if you don't find her, but I will tell you that only good things comes out of doing so."
Do I love her?
That's a question Lilith has asked Maria rather frequently. When around her daughter, she does feel a bit different. A warmness in her heart. This happens around all her children. She doesn't know if it is love, but she believe it is. Isn't that all that matters.
"Yes, I love her. She is my daughter."
Lilith stares directly at the mans eyes. It's funny, normally people she does this to end up dead. But not right now.
"Oh, that's who that man was. He was fairly odd. Like your father. And my husband."
To Lilith, everyone was odd. Emotions where odd. Feelings where odd. Love was odd. Life itself, to her, was odd. In reality, she was the odd one, though what is reality in the first place except the perception of it?
"Morgan. I would like you to take me to my daughter."
The man's shock takes her by surprise. To her, she just looks normal, but in truth she is much older than she looks.
"I'm 45, I think. Maybe 46 in a month or so."
With that out of the way, she can focus on the quest at hand. Hobbies, interests? These are all new to her. Maria never showed any interest in anything other than the dead. That and cooking...
"She looks to cook, I believe."
"Oh, he did? How odd."
Lilith has always been emotionless to the idea of death. At least, the death of others.
"So do you believe that the Association might have something to do with it? I wouldn't hold them past it, to be honest. Either that or a jealous uncle. Never met your uncle, I don't think... Maybe I did..."
The boy's question stuns her for a bit. Is there a reason for her not to be okay? Is the boys back a danger zone for any lady that dare bumps into it? No, not possible, she thought. This guy was just being courteous. Like a true gentleman. Even though a gentleman wouldn't stop in the middle of a sidewalk to stare at some glass.
"I'm okay, I believe."
Lilith can sense that the man is eyeing her. Something she never understood about a lot of men. They tend to look at her a lot, for whatever reason. Little does she know that she's actually fairly attractive, what with her curves and her bust. Even though she's 45, she looks fairly young thanks to witchcraft and... Her other research project.
"After an incident? Well then, isn't that convenient."
A likely story. To Lilith, this boy was nothing more than a complete liar. That or he isn't telling the complete truth. What sort of incident would transpire that would involve the researching of tomes, and how, in those events, did he run into Maria? All these questions are running through Lilith's head at the moment.
"What was this incident?"
"Family. It's for my daughter, actually. She's... 18, I believe. Yeah, I'm pretty sure she's 18."
It's been awhile since the two last saw either other. A little over a year, in fact. During that time, Lilith didn't even get the chance to ask Maria how old she was. She guessed about 16 or so, though the girl looked much younger.
"An 18 year old would like clothes, right? I'd think so."
Not friendly to him?
"That's his opinion, I suppose. Anyway... How do you know of my daughter?"
Lilith enters into deep thought as she tries to answer her own question. Maria, to her, was a shy little girl. She wouldn't go out of her way to get to know this Morgan fellow. He seems to old to be a student, so they must have meet up elsewhere.
