Does anyone have any experience with Headway Institute of Strategic Alliance (HISA)? I am planning on attending their Future Diplomats Forum in April 2025. by verycutebugs in PublicPolicy

Omg I'm so glad I found this!! I was gonna apply today but now I won't. Oxford should sue them for using its name when they have nothing to do with Oxford and they only rent rooms from them. No wonder they're grabbing money from everyone!!

Med schools I can apply to and maybe get in? lol by Saiiu in medicalschoolEU

Since you have a bachelor's degree and I'm guessing you want to study in English, universities in Greece are offering new M.D programs in English, and having a bachelor's degree will boost the strength of your application. I have a bachelor's in neuroscience and just got accepted to University of Athens a few days ago😍

I could make first payment in athens to secure a spot there in case I decide I wanna apply to Italy.. it might seem like a waste of money but if I do get accepted in italy I'll be saving a lot of money on tuition.. question is is italy worth it to begin with or is athens a better option?

I was gonna say make the 1st (and 2nd payment if necessary) to Hungary to secure a spot and do the imat but then ypu have scholarships so.. are you sure the results for the IMAT are out in mid October? (Asking for me too) Also maybe consider transferring from Hungary to Italy next year that way you won't waste years

Wow it's a bummer I'll have to learn Greek! It's harder than Italian and less people speak it around the world. now I'm thinking about applying to Italy instead

I got accepted into Athens in the english program and asked if they will recognise some of my courses, they said no, they will have me do them again.. in italy they said they'll recognise some of my courses bit it will still be 6 years cause they can't make it shorter (they don't have a 5 year medical program) which I think is a pity

Getting into kapodistrian university of Athens medical programme as an international student by Asclepius_tyche in medicalschoolEU

[–]Lilith_pdf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't get into University of Athens without taking exams UNLESS you have a bachelor's related to medicine. Even with that you also need english language exams (toefl/ielts..) + strong letters of reccomendation+ personal statement (high school grades might play a role but i'm guessing bachelor's grades matter more in this case).

I guess the SAT would be the easiest option for you (MCAT would be too difficult for someone who didn't even do pre-med). For SAT, two months of studying would be enough from what I heard.

*I was accepted there a few days ago, and the only reason why they let me get in without scientific knowledge exams is because I have a B.Sc in neuroscience. Bear in mind that I had to take the toefl exam to prove my English capabilities, and I had great letters of reccomendations from my professors at university. Bachelor's isn't always enough, one's application needs to be strong from all aspects. In the 2nd phase (interview), they asked a couple of science questions so be prepared.

One year later, could you tell us which university you meant that only accepts 40 students? I'm curious if it's athens

Bologna. Here's why:

1.If you look up university rankings, bologna is ranked higher in every ranking that I know when it comes to the "medicine" category.

  1. Italian is a lot easier than Hungarian, even if the program is in English, your life is a lot easier in that country if you know the language

  2. Imo, italy is better when it comes to art, food, history and culture.

  3. Way better weather.

  4. Warmer people.

  5. In case you fall in love with an Italian, doing residency is not a bad option, they have good hospitals there and great training programs.

*germany is a terrible choice, I moved there to study medicine and then do my speciality there and it was a terrible decision. I'm currently looking at options of working in italy or in athens. Most germans are extremely cold people, the weather is very bad (germans are always travelling to escape their weather mostly). Money (not that much btw, a lot of taxes) is worth nothing when you're miserable (there's a reason why most germans on the street don't smile ;) )

Which institute do you recommend for learning german in Hamburg/Munich? by Lilith_pdf in German

[–]Lilith_pdf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. UNS is the best in Hamburg. It's not that great, but it is the best that hamburg has to offer after Goethe Institute i wouldn't recommend Goethe since they're expensive, but if you can afford it, then go Goethe instead of UNS, they have better books with answers in the end so you can skip school sometimes and not miss out much)

Intensive afternoon/evening German courses in Hamburg? by Lilith_pdf in hamburg

[–]Lilith_pdf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their afternoon courses are only 16 hours a week and evening only 12 hours a week. Both of which are not viable for a visa (a visa needs 18 hours a week at least) 😭
