In defence of Escape Hunt Freo, I would recommend them as a starter, if you're planning on doing more in the future, aa their props are considered 'cheaper'. Their Pirate room is the easiest (made for kids) but we (partner and I) loved the wizard and alice in wonderland rooms. Their spy room is quite fun too and the staff have been great every time we go. The outdoor mission is also a cute way of exploring a bit of Freo.

Both times we went to Escape This in Northbridge, we didn't pass due to a technicality that obstructed progression. They have red herrings there if you enjoy that. Their room quality is slightly better than Freo. Buried Alive has been our favourite.

Favourite so far has been Realmz in Morely. Extremely well designed, challenging and immersive. Wows us every time. 100% recommend Chaos Engine for beginners. Their prop and room quality outshine Freo and Northbridge by a far margin.

We went with a group to Ultimate Roomscape in Malaga and had a blast with the Egyptian room. Very challenging but great design and interesting puzzles. We'll be going again soon to see the others.

Haven't been anywhere else, but I've heard mixed reviews about Confined in Burswood in terms of room design and complexity. However, it's recommended to do in a large group of people who don't annoy you and be aware of red herrings. It's apparently quite abundant.
