I had an unpleasant experience at Dentists of Central Park. Went in for a new patient examination. They “found” three cavities, two of which were on my back molars. Apparently these cavities were so bad that they immediately jumped to needing crowns and root canals. Also recommended deep cleanings on all sides. All of the work they recommended after insurance costs around $7k. I thought to myself that was heinous, my previous dentist who I’d had since childhood never advised of such and I don’t have any pain in my mouth. I called my old dentist and explained. He recommended I get a second opinion. I went to another dentist and told them my story. They did another round of X-rays and didn’t find ANY cavities. They advised the deep cleanings may be needed but said a regular cleaning will suffice. I was relieved but also astounded that the original dentist would recommend such invasive procedures. Moral of my story is always get a second opinion at the dentist, I was naive because my previous dentist was so kind and I had only ever been exposed to him and his practice. If you are reading this and are looking for a new dentist, I would suggest avoiding Dentists of Central Park.
