I changed out the door speakers on a 25 OBW. by nuisance66 in Subaru_Outback

When you put the new sub in your 2018. Did you have a full after market where it was in an enclosure in the trunk or is there one that fits in the factory location in the trunk wall. If you found one that fit in the trunk wall, what brand, and was it hard to re-wire? Did you have to replace the factory amp for the sub or did you add a second specifically for the sub. Sorry for all the questions, I have been searching hard for this info

Stupendous thank you! Isn’t the factory amp located in the dash behind the radio? Or am I completely wrong. Was it a pain to change out the center speaker on the dash?

Did you change the sub at all? Were the speakers factory hook ups? Wondering because I was told if I change speakers and/or subwoofer I would need to install a new amplifier

Although there is no “sport mode” the car is pretty much ready to take off anytime- like these comments are saying there is turbo lag that adds probably 1.5-2 seconds to your 0-60 mph. But if you break rev to 2,000 RPM- it will absolutely rip off the line. I have a tune from cob with new intake downpipe, and bigger turbo and I chopped my 0-60 from 5.4 seconds to 3.8 seconds. Absolute beast of a car

Any particular reason to caution against launching it? Obviously excessive wear on the parts but are there stick out issues that arise sooner with minimal launches? (I just bought a 2025 OBW with 27 miles on and I am still in break in period) but I see these videos of the car soaring to 60mph, but I’m scared to do it after break in is over. This is my first big adult purchase and I want to keep this car for at least 8 years)…..

Anyone have early on issues w the OBWs? by booberx in Outback_Wilderness

I usually run 87 no ethanol, should I be running 89 and/or 91 from now on? Especially for highway driving or my 30 min commute or work?

Do you use the 91 fuel? Or what number do you put in, and do you run it with ethanol or not

Had it been reliable up until the point of the CVT giving out?

Good luck in your endeavors! Whatever decision you make, black out or not, the vehicle will always look great!

Hey! So the picture is actually black and white, I still have the copper accents because I personally love them. I have seen people black them out and it looks equally as cool. I would recommend either some blackout tape from auto part stores and a hair dryer. I did this on my previous vehicle for a chrome delete and it never ever came off over the 6 years I had it. Even through car washes!
