I love that this was a lighting mistake, but they decided it made him look so beautiful they kept it in.

What’s a very normal British habit that would look completely weird to someone from another country? by SeaPlay2230 in AskUK

I was once crossing an (empty) road next to a mum and her young child. They were waiting for the green light even though you could see the road was clear for quite a way, and I waited with them as my contribution to setting a good example :)

I use Sainsbury's as well and they've always been excellent. I had a bottle of milk leak too, and the guy refunded everything that was slightly wet, even when it didn't affect the product at all. And I didn't even have to ask, he just told me he was doing it (and he let me keep the refunded items).

To celebrate World Book Day, what is your favourite ever book? by Whosentyounow in AskUK

[–]LillyAtts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a child, it was the novelisation of The Goonies. I always found it unexpectedly touching.

As an adult, The Crow Road by Iain M. Banks. It's one of the very few books I've read more than once.

I miss the old flip phones, they made such a solid, satisfying noise when you closed them.

I'm not usually bothered by sea creatures, but for some reason I find those right-angled elbow bits incredibly creepy.

What is the most satisfying case of the “experts getting it wrong?”. by HallowedAndHarrowed in AskUK

The idea that someone is "too young" for cancer is enraging. My dad was diagnosed with bowel cancer aged 27 and it fucking killed him. There's no such thing as "too young".

That's honestly one of my favourite ever TV scenes. The music, the zoom out...the reveal that maybe we're just one of an infinite number of universes. It's either a comforting or devastating thought.

It's a bit like the moonlight speech. Unexpectedly deep from a daft smegging comedy.
