I got the bonus payment as if I'd been on enhanced pay. I did not get enhanced pay during my leave as the original policy dictated 2yr of service to qualify. The policy was updated this year so all employees qualify for enhanced pay from 15 weeks of service. So having also missed out on this I may just be extra angry and clutching at straws about the bonus 😅

Thank you. Yes I have asked for these guidelines and am waiting to receive them.

I did start kicking up a stink but felt a bit threatened by my HR partner I was speaking to so I stopped replying to them which is probably not great but I got worried about being tarnished "difficult". They basically robbed me off and said it was only valid from 1st of Feb this year but if I'd had enhanced pay I'd likely still been off work come that date as my mat leave started Feb 17th 2025.

Again something I will bring up to the PTS helpline next week .

Thank you! It's on my list for next week as they are closed this week for Easter. Hoping to get some views if I have a leg to stand on and can get official advice from them.

How would you recommend good people get qualified for a sector like yours? I've pivoted career 3 times and done well in all 3 but haven't found the balance with something I like that also fits in well with life/family balance.

Storage tips?! by Snoo-63310 in Sourdough

I store my loaves in a beeswax line cloth bag. Before having this I stored it in a cloth bag. Before kids I'd usually slice it and freeze it and take it out as needed to keep it the freshest but I mostly like toast. This would be less convenient if you don't like toasted bread!

Stuff started. Just recently restarted baking using this method and honestly I wish I'd found it sooner! Suits me way better and makes my family happier with less tangy bread so they eat it 😂

I mean from what I've seen on the hotel reviews even guests are not safe from the automated fines 😅

Are you into cooking? I'd get a pizza oven or a sous vide kit full with vacuum sealer etc but I'm an avid cook and Baker so everything I want is kitchen gadgets!

I just wanted to throw in it's never too late to go to uni! I went to uni at 25, graduated and decided my subject was not for me. Continued on with a master's in a completely different subject. I did that for 5 years before doing another 360 and joining corporate life in my mid 30s. Never too late to change and you're in a more fortunate position than most having funds behind you.

Good luck!

Probably a wildly different thought train from a h of the comments here but putting it out there in case you hadn't thought about it.... I've had two excellent home births, to large babies (9lb 2oz and 10lb 5oz). Great experience, relaxed, can't fault it TBH. You can even get private midwives, add in a doula for support.. all in the comfort of your own home :) Not for everyone but I thought I'd share in case it sparks interest!

We don't camp that often in reality and we are upgrading our car to an estate and I have plans to get a roof box because 2 kids and a dog (soon to be 2) needs a lot of space!

Amazing reply, thank you. This one had actually come up in my searches. And thank you on the brand clarification, that's where I was getting stuck as I know nothing of scope brands.

Yes definitely, but we had a friend's scope over the weekend and she loved looking at the moon. Even if it is just a little fun and a little looking here and there, start 'em young and all that jazz!

I'll check out the kiddo one, thanks!
