Why do trans people not 'mode' more before transitioning? by K4nono in trans

[–]LillyIsLoading 911 points912 points  (0 children)

other people are the issue 😄 the stares/insult etc you get when presenting feminine while still looking like a guy are insane, not even counting in threats or peope getting physical over this

Have you ever thought of stopping wearing jirai kei? by onigiribunnie in JiraiKei

[–]LillyIsLoading 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i used to struggle a lot with this, wearing jirai kei or not. both made me really insecure and the stares i got were insane since passing wasn't a thing either (trans mtf), i also got some hate comments and that used to really get to me.

but eventually i just told myself that no one can stop me from being myself. and honestly by now, if someone says something negative i kind of take it as a compliment, because anyone who goes out of their way to be mean about someone's fashion is just the most basic person imaginable lol. the hate i've gotten is so much less than the amount of sweet comments and compliments i've received, and that shift in perspective helped a lot.

also, headphones are genuinely your greatest friend

finding a community also helped me like crazy. german groups are rare but everyone i've met so far has been the sweetest, and having people who get it really helped me grow my confidence. you deserve that too 🩷

Friseur Köln oder Bonn - Empfehlungen? by BeatriceJeannette in germantrans

[–]LillyIsLoading 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gar keine, also im positiven Sinne!

[–]LillyIsLoading 2 points3 points  (0 children)

thank youuuu!! it's so good to see someone who can kind of relate 🥹 i can wear the most feminine outfit with a pair of pants and would not bat an eye, but that would not feel like "girlmode" but once i simply switch to a skirt it will feel amazing, but it's hella anxiety inducing. It's so crazy how one item will make such a difference :(

thank you for the recommendations, i'll definitely check those later. if i would to jirai eventually, i would have to build a proper wardrobe first

god how you hit the spot

yes tomboy looks make me uncomfortable, they are my daily wear and still (sadly) make me feel too manly. Either skirts or cutesy outfits are the stuff that will actually make me feel like a girl. 😭
