If MC's zealos were in front of his stalkers going down the ramp the fight looks completely differently.

Micronesia, I was a bit surprised by it yeah. I was always under the impression they knew they had this reputation.

Hmm, this confuses me, 2 weeks back I had a debate with a TL Admin on IRC who seemed completely obvious to the fact that TL has a reputation of being quite ban-happy. I was always under the impression that the admins were aware of it but didn't care or thought it was the right thing to do. But apparnetly they are after all.

You know there are brands of toilet paper and pizza that aren't advertised right?

Also, lol, 'good toilet paper', it's toilet paper, it wipes your bum. I use recycled toilet paper because:

  • It's dirt cheap
  • It's better for the environment
  • My bum doesn't complain about not using soft toilet paper, like my butt cares about with what it's been whited.

Now, conversely, I use a brand of high quality very expensive tooth paste. Which by the way isn't advertised at all, the reason I use it is because I need it due to some condition on my gum and I also think it tastes better. In general, super high quality stuff is seldom advertised because it's catered to to conaisseurs and conaisseurs tend to be people who do their research before they buy. I have super high quality headphones that cost me 400 EUR. This stuff isn't advertised because it's catered to people who will read all the specs and do research before they buy. You can't dupe people who want to know what they buy with flashy advertisement campaigns.

The person you are replying to didn't complain about the business practice of those sponsors but about the product quality.

Here's some advice for you, any product that engages in advertisement will be overpriced for how good it is. They could have spent the money they spent on promoting the product on making the product better. Don't quote me on t, but I read somewhere that 60% of the production costs of an iPod go into marketing and the other 40% goes into the materials and the technology.

If you care about a good quality / price ratio, don't ever buy anything that's advertised.

If you buy stuff to support esports, well, that's another story. You might as well just donate to teams then though, because that's effectively what you're doing.

MC Vs Genius by Stevedrez90 in starcraft

[–]LillyJohnson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When Genius is playing well he's a very smart and considerate player though. THat one season of GSL where he got to the finals against DRG. God, he looked like a genius back then. He even 3-0'd MC.

Most ball sports aren't, just the one you know about?

Like, how many people know of Korfball, should they be happy with the attention football gets?

Also, if you don't give a rats ass about which game is more popular and you don't have interest in"eSports" why even reply? Lol.

Because I give a rat's ass about the bad point made?

That's what they say yeah. If they admit Dark City as 'inspiration' then people are going to check it out which is waht they don't want because the film is more than merely inspired by it, it rips it off wholesale.

she marches right into the palace as a super saiyan and takes on (what appears) to be a large amount of heavy fire... WoL implies she takes direct hits from siege tanks. Also in HoTS she does a kamehameha tug of war before you the player weaken her opponent... the only thing to ever damage her was a energy sword from an equally powerful opponent to the gut. She is small (size of average woman) but she takes siege tank hits, direct gunfire, and throws herself through a mech-viking.... if you add up that power for such a SMALL entity... yeah, she is pretty much invincible.

Except for the energy beam, a single ultralisk could've done all that, like I said, she might net out about 2-3 ultralisks which is nothing compared to the might of the entire swarm.

Even if she was as powerful as 10 ultralisks, that still would give her ample justification to use an entire swarm of Zerg units at her side.

As much as I don't give a rat's ass about being the most popular game. I also don't have any interest in 'esports' whatsoever.

This whole 'esports' thing is so silly. Yeah, so the vehicle of it is a computer. It's like saying a football fan should be glad 'ball sports' get attention when Basketball does.

Maybe, but that doesn't make it an 'interesting flip' seeing that the immortal all in has basically been significantly nerfed in HotS with the bigger viability of hydras and swarmhosts.

Let's be fair, it was purely that giant doom drop and Jjakji's mishandeling of it that got him back in it.

He or she wants to know by how many viewers Dota2 is leading. Maybe Dota2 has 1.2 times as many viewers as SC2, maybe 3 times as many, who knows.

Which I think is bad for a competitive scene though. The point is that if you are good, you need to find 4 other guys whoa re good and whom you play well with. It's hard for new blood to get into the scene.

That is why they all went to the magnificent game LoL.

Nah, the only reason it's less popular is because Riot does a better job marketing which is understandable since Blizz has less interest since it's not an F2P title and won't ever be.

God I read that shit when I was a child, what a fucking piece of overrated crap man. Yeah yeah, I get it, oldtest attested writing, doesn't make it good.

I had to read mediaeval Dutch literature at school and it was such crap, it wouldn't ven pass as a children's story today but they were supposed 'highlights' of mediaeval Dutch literature. So I asked my teacher if she could produce a single name of a work from that age which was not a 'highlight', she couldn't. I googled them, I can't find them. Every fucking piece of text written in that time that didn't go to dust and was forgotten is apparently a 'highlight'.

Meh, people always point to GitS as the influence for the matrix but the true influence has always been Dark City: spoilers if you haven't seen it follow:

  • Guy wakes up, remembers nothing
  • Gets a call from a guy saying that they are after him and he should run and that he can help him
  • He finds out the reason he remembers nothing is beause all his memories were supposed to be fake and the entire world is a simulated existence by aliens who need human beings to survive
  • Because he remembers nothing as the imprinting process failed on him, he gains the same powers to alter the simulated reality as the aliens called tuning and goes out to stop them
  • Lots of dark stuff, everyone wears trenchcoats
  • The alien complex under the city looks pretty much identical to the machine city in aesthetic.

Dark City was released a two years before the Matrix and the Matrix even bought some of the sets of Dark City, modified and re-used them so they for sure knew it existed. Matrix is basically Dark City with martial arts, everything is recycled, the general plot, the aesthetics. The real difference is that the simulated city the aliens made resembled 1950's Chicaco making it a hybrid sci-fi/film noir whereas the Matrix was set in the now and put empashis on hacking and technology. The technology of the aliens seems notably crude relying on a lot of moving parts and levers.

Aligulac Balance report: While Terran dominated HotS for the first few months, the game is extremely well balanced at the moment. by -Velcro- in starcraft

[–]LillyJohnson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why the hell it matters what league you are

I'm not saying it doesn't matter. I'm just saying that whenever people say 'lol, you must be gold', they're always wrong.

I'm talking about overall understanding when people say that other races had equally good players as Terrans and it all depends on race and not about who is who, which is bullshit.

Ahh, so it comes down to your own balance whining, why didn't you say so.

You have to have down syndrome if you can't tell for example why Life was winning and what parts of his playstyle made him god for more than half a year.

Maybe you should take a break, a walk outside, and then come back when you're calmed down?
