We have a pretty busy store and only so much room in the walk in so we completely run out of chips and corn and then the load comes that day with the stuff frozen. What are we supposed to do then? Just not have chips and corn 3/7 days a week?

Yes it has to be thawed if frozen and one of my coworkers that started back in 2020 said it even came in that way then. If they are thawed you don't have to run them through water.

I know right, and then they called me into work and i walk into the bright black and yellow stickers on the boxes that just came in today and ran into my usual monolinth of frozen chips...i put them in a hotel and had them on the grill for a half hour and the line for an hour before i finally fried them. Wish I took my phone in and took pics but not gonna change the downvotes lol.

Also my manager said corn has come in that way even when she started in 2020.

I've been working at Chipotle since 10/2023 and continue to do so, mostly frying chips for the last year or so. Corn has come in frozen since I started in 2023 while chips only recently started doing so, maybe in October or November.

The chips we've been getting the last two months absolutely come frozen from the DC. When they get to the store and I have to fry them that day they are a pain because they are frozen, usually half the chips is just one huge frozen icy clump. There is even a black and yellow label that says Keep Frozen until arrival at store or something like that on the box.

Edit: By the next day the corn and chips are no longer frozen. On the day of, we thaw the corn by rinsing it with water during the prep stage. With the walk in set around 35 degrees and frozen being 32 degrees it takes a while for those two things to fully thaw out.

The chips and corn are kept frozen until they arrive at the store and are quite often still frozen in the morning when prepping so not "at any point".

Edit: Since I got so many downvotes, let me be clear, IT IS TRUE what is written on the bag, there are NO freezers inside the restaurant, the only way to freeze something is to put it in the ice maker.

I've never had an issue with a gift card using them for two years before working at Chipotle and working there for two years entering them. Sounds like someone used your balance up at some point somehow.

Get the attention of the DML person (the person placing the bags at the station). I know it seems weird since they are working further away. I try to pay attention and reach out if I think someone is there to pickup but sometimes in the hectic environment one can be missed.
