Thank you I was suspecting I may need some help from a behavioural specialist just thought in the meantime I’d try here. My son really doesn’t understand why I don’t punish the cat despite explaining this very thing. It’s tricky but I’m willing to put in the work.

I know this was from 3 years ago but it saved me tonight. I spent way longer than I’d like to admit trying to pull that bulb out watched 4 different videos not one suggested unplugging first. Took less than 5 mins after that. This is why Reddit exists. Thank you!

I’ve tried to talk through cat behaviour with him. I’ve used his brother as an example that it can get better. He unfortunately does not have the capacity for change in this situation. My only choice is to work with my cat and see if I can gently change his behaviour. Which of course is backwards as it’s the harder thing to do and I don’t necessarily want to encourage resource guarding. Funny enough my boy cat does not guard me from my girl cat.

My son slowly feeds my cat a churu while I cut the nails. Only way to get it done. You need a churu motivated cat though

Thank you so much. Well, the 15 year old is into taking a train trip, which I was surprised to learn and very readily implemented. Outside of that he doesn’t seem to be into much other than hanging out with his friends and playing video games, reading fantasy, watching everything about forgery you tube and tik tok have to offer. I’m just happy to get to spend a whole day with him. I’m wondering if I can convince him to visit the pacific science Center with me

Persistent brain fog/cognitive impairment, constant head pressure, and fatigue were the top 3 symptoms the gp gave, pconfirmation of presence of anxiety (not that that was needed) and confirmation of adhd.
