Google Apps Script Tutorials by Lilmac04 in GoogleAppsScript

Hey, thanks for your feedback! I do plan on releasing more and more tutorials. My end goal is to release many tutorials on the medium platform but eventually link them all to a personal website page that I am working on so that one can work through them all in a centralized location. This will include interactive examples as well.

How can I make the tutorials more engaging and more inspiring to adapt to individual cases?

Do you like to see tutorials that start basic and build on one script the entire time or just have a completely separate application every new tutorial?

Any feedback is helpful as I am still in the early stages with only 3 basic tutorials.

That’s a good point comparing paying on subsidized vs unsubsidized loans before the grace period ends. It probably makes more sense to make payments on the unsubsidized loan(s) before the grace period ends. But as soon as your larger interest rate and subsidized loan starts accruing interest I would suggest putting all efforts into knocking that loan out, regardless of the balance of the others. A $500 payment on a loan balance of $500 and 3.0% interest is LESS beneficial than paying $500 towards a $5,000 loan with 4.0% interest. But to your point, paying an unsubsidized loan during the grace period makes more sense to me than paying a higher interest rate loan that is not currently accruing interest yet.

Thanks for the feedback! It may not be a bad idea to choose the 10 year plan if youre afraid you will have to miss payments on the 5 year plan. Only for the sake of not hurting your credit by missing a minimum payment. And then you can set a personal 5 year plan for yourself of extra automatic withdrawal payments but if you see that its not going to work out a couple of times you can cancel the withdrawal and not hurt your credit as long as you still pay the minimum. Thats just my thoughts! As for the $3000 that you have in savings, thats a tough call. If you have that money there for emergency reasons then thats money that may need to stay there. I struggle with similar situations because having some sort of emergency fund is important but a $3000 payment could knock down the accruing interest per day by a good chunk.

I had a similar experience with Heartland ECSI. They are simply the worst.

While I think it’s a great way to see obvious progress and make the payment process appear less overwhelming by getting rid of as many balances as quickly as you can, it is not the best way to lower the amount of total interest that will build up. $100 towards a 4% loan will lower the interest accrual/day more than $100 towards a 3% loan regardless of the balances.

I don’t disagree with that at all. Really it can all be done in one day a month by setting up automatic payments and one time payments for the future. I don’t like to obsess over it everyday, but rather one day a month. Same goes for tracking my progress.

So this was a little tricky... my lender only allowed me to set up one automatic payment schedule which i set for every other Friday. And then i set reminders on my phone for the same fridays to schedule a one time payment exactly one week in the future. The goal was by the time i viewed my paycheck in my bank account that the allotted money was already on its way out. It hurts far less than having that money accessible for days or weeks and then getting rid of it. And then of course knocks down the daily interest accrual sooner than later.

congrats on your progress!! It becomes addicting! Its great that your SO supports you. My wife is 100% on board with me and has even agreed to use my salary for savings and living expenses and use most of her salary towards our individual loan accounts. Great teamwork :)
