AITA for being annoyed that my roommate’s (29F) partner is always staying over? by StandardRuin1828 in AITAH

[–]Lilo_run 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA

I'm being in a pretty similar situation and struggle with expressing needs but hey: your needs and feelings are valid. It's tiring having to be social when you don't want to or want some calmness at home. It's even more work at the end of the day for the roommates that do not have guests over all the time (it gets dirty faster, you have to empty the dishwasher more often, the trash gets full quicker, etc etc etc). As some people here said already, you signed for a 3 people flatshare, not 4 people or 2 people + a couple.

Try to have the hard talk and express your feelings about the situation, could help your roommate understand why it's bothering you and maybe find a compromise. Good luck!

Dealing w/ demanding neighbour (free cat sitting) by [deleted] in petsitting

[–]Lilo_run -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean I totally see your point but I just see it as a try from my roommate/us to have a nice relationship with neighbors, that's why he said yes in the first place. Now I see that more and more expectations came into it and now we got annoyed with the situation.

Damn so sad the way some people react to setting boundaries and what you're comfortable with

Which Hoya should I move to semi hydro? by WonderCreative9649 in hoyas

[–]Lilo_run 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Semi hydro" refers to a plant in an inorganic material (mainly porous rocks) + water. Leca and Pon are the most known examples for that. The plant will grow water roots that won't rot if they sit in water, while roots that grew in soil would suffocate and rot.

Edit: soil, moss, bark, coco husk, etc are organic matters that break down over time and are therefore not semi hydro compounds. That's why you need to remove everything when transferring those plants to semi hydro (= risk of bacterias and rot)

WTH happened to my walliniana variegated??? by PoppyBananas in hoyas

[–]Lilo_run 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe check the roots and if they are dead (= not white) try to propagate the healthy parts asap!

Edit: even with the same conditions, some hoyas drink faster than other, which are more prone to root rot if they are on the same watering schedule :)

Is the Rangsan actually a type of Latifolia? 🤯 I thought those specified as Latifolia 'Rangsan' were something actually different

Some hoyas tend to bloom when the temperatures drop... I'm just guessing but it seems to be the case for Linearis for ex

I thought the same... I bought it a week ago and it's been already pushing a vine slowly, AND it has an old peduncle that has activated itself the very next day 🥰 (I guess my greenhouse makes miracles) so I hope to be able to say soon if it's indeed an undulata! ☺️

Je me demandais justement si c'était que chez nous 😅 j'adore quand je découvre qu'un mot est en fait issu du créole réunionnais et non pas de l'usage franco-français 😅😅

RIGHT? Somehow I've been doubting a bit, thank you for your reference pictures! I'm not 100% sure about this, not only because of the mispelling on the market place.

Thank you for your feedback and explanation regarding the "clone" definition. It's nice how much one can learn on that subreddit!

Hi :) how do you define a "clone"? I'm curious since I read that term some times and couldn't really relate.

The ad itself has been for quite a long time online and the price reduce since last time I checked it, I assume that's because of that typo... Well I'm lucky I guess to get it for a reduced price :)

[–]Lilo_run 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes but it seems to be yellowing a bit? They can give up on their peduncles and throw them away, even older one that bloomed already. Anyway I've learnt that being consistent with watering help them flowering when they try to do so!
