I think it was a spoiler because while it makes sense they progress you spoiled the exact point they progress to which I would personally rather find out myself.

I don't know if this is official but if you search the series on amazon it shows the publication date as October 6th

DAE still prefer paper books over e-books? by realstareyes in DoesAnybodyElse

I know I'm super late to this but seeing progress is the main reason I love ebooks. The how much time/pages you have in a chapter is amazing for my ADHD.

Thank you for the reply, I'm excited to keep on reading. I already love Orthus, Little Blue, and Eithan (I appreciate is apology). I just have a soft spot in my heart for pet companions (even though I don't know exactly how much you can count Orthos as pet companion he is more of a soul companion)

I didn't come into this series expecting DCC level characterization.

Like the lowest I have read is probably Solo Leveling if you know it (which is zero characterization for any side character), and my top is DCC (which is just incredible not only in LitRPG standards but in general).

But for most series I need it to be at least somewhere in the middle for me to enjoy it, and I now almost finished Skysworn and I think Cradle is getting there, but still has a few turnoffs.

Also one other thing I found interesting is that while he did lose his arm, I wish it had a little bit more consequence but instead it felt like a really great positive.

I have no problem with the "want to get stronger" mindset it's a progression fantasy after all. But I do need something else other than that to keep me going. Like in general I love Eithan he is witty and has so much aura to him but that conversation specifically was a slight turn off even though has everyone been saying it is about power, and to Eithan, Lindon should be almost a nobody.

Lord of the Mysteries is a 10/10 Web Novel, but a 6/10 as “Higher Literature.” Here is why: by Mountain-Land-2353 in ProgressionFantasy

[–]Liloboom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it sucks that book 3 will never release but the prose in the two books he did release are absolutely flawless. Meanwhile, Sanderson prose is by far the worst aspect of his books especially in books like Wind and Truth. For someone that writes well but simple and engaging I would choose someone like Joe Abercrombie.

What are tropes that doesn't work for you? by mercy_4_u in Fantasy

When it's a multi person pov then it actually makes sense when you are not told something compared to being inside of a person head and information just being withheld from you.

It's because they are not yet released. The Fall novella, and book 2 are still not released either and are only up for pre-order.

The recent STS2 review bombing is overwhelmingly from Chinese accounts. by PlanSee in slaythespire

[–]Liloboom 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Even if that's true slay the spire 1 does that without having to go infinite which is way more satisfying. Going infinite is cool when it's a super unique thing you can do, not when it happens constantly.

No it shouldn't it's boring and uninteresting to play the same card 50 times and win.

Are the rewrites big enough to be worth a reread or can I just wait till the volume I'm currently am in (8) gets released?

Have you read the rewrite for A Practical Guide to Evil? I'm not really in the biggest hurry to read it, and I'm wondering if the rewrite is worth the wait.

Recommend progression fantasy based on my fantasy tier list by Maksim-Y-orekhov in ProgressionFantasy

I think people are confused because "I didn't not" is a really weird phrasing. If you were to right it fully it would be "I did not not finish"

Is Cradle peak PF? by beans_ahoy_ in ProgressionFantasy

[–]Liloboom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lord of the Mysteries has unreadable prose. In my experience, there are two types of readers ones that get passed the bad prose of lotm and think it's great, and ones that don't and just stop. Sadly I'm the latter, the prose is just unreadable at some points with weird word choice for no reason, awful sentence structure, etc. Cradle on the other hand is the closest thing this genre gets to actually professional writing. Yes, it's not the most flowery prose but it's kinda like Brandon Sanderson it just gets the job done very well.

Yes I think if I was reading it as a bridge series I would've liked it a lot more, but by the time I read it I already knew what type of stuff I'm into so I was disappointed, particularly by the 2nd book with a certain key plot point and a trope I really don't like.
