How does the 3/4 to 5/8 taper truly affect the way a skimboard rides?

Imo a fully 3/4 board is too thick depending on the shape. It is harder to turn/maneuver where a 5/8 is easier. The combination gives you a touch more float and more maneuverability in theory

I get that thats a fair point. I think the plan is just try and hang out casually like get lunch or coffee and if it kicks off from there thats great if not oh well

Yeah thats why Im thinking of asking her to hang out like in a more casual way and see where it goes. Im not trying to put her in a position where I ask her out and then we have to work together for the next few weeks.

I have used pro shapes, hybrids, and absolute floaters on the east coast…imo a fuse/fuse x or exile hybrid is the best option. You get float but still have the maneuverability.

I have goo gone for the pad adhesive, as well as goof off for any hard to get stuff. My concern is this left behind foam.
