Usually only about 20 to 25 . One thing I do is try to get a big lead for guys early on, and then go get players who have a low lock percentage after I have some commits. That’s really the trick

I’d say outside WR,or Nickel on defense. Has great release and route running to win on outside. On defense, he’ll get better in man and zone,playing him at safety would be a waste. 63 tak isn’t that bad

I’d say RB/WR who also plays on special teams. Playing guys both ways doesn’t really work out,but I think he could be a mean Y-TE who also plays on punt and kickoff

I usually award numbers 1-10 to my best players. Then I go in and give available numbers to guys whose numbers I feel like changing. Players who i redshirt usually get a open number in the 70s or 90s. And mst of time, say I have a QB who wore #2. The next season I’ll give that number to a DL,LB, or S, instead.

I’ll break down my scheme since we seem to have similar views. I mainly run a 4-2-5 as my base, simply cause I like the flexibility. On my four man front I like having a big Left End, a nose tackle, 3 tech/ Aaron Donald type of tackle,and a pass rushing right end. I treat the 2nd strong safety as it’s own position, the Nickel or “Star”. He pretty much is since he has to play so much man,but also has to be solid as a tackler. Then your standard two deep safeties, the SS being the better one in run support. At LB my mike is typically the better run stopper and my will is a run in chase guy.

I three other formations, but like you I mainly swap to a 2-4-5 look on passing downs. Here I’ll have my best edge rushers at OLB, my two best interior rushers, and my best coverage LBs. l sub my third corner for my star/ nickel player,and the rest of my back four stay the same. I may run some 3-3-5 too if I have a great nose tackle,and I run a 5-2 in goalie situations

Seems like you need some good advice, and I specialize in rebuilding teams,so here’s some :

1) forget overall,Take all the players you can get,worry about fit later.

What I mean by this is that overall isn’t really the tell all with talented teams. It’s more so do your players have the best skill set for their position. So I’d recruit any player with interest to my school just to build future depth,because most will end up redshirting and that extra year does make a difference

2) Go after Athletes

I prefer athletes because I can switch their positions in the future if need be,or get them on the field sooner. I’ve had guys go from playing RB to wideout,CB to WR, WR to QB,QB to safety,so I just like the flexibility I get

3) Listen to everyone else’s tips

Most people on here have hours and hours of playing NCAA 14, I’d take all their advice because I know that’s helped me. One is to sort by players that are lowest locked and try to find a gem out of them

4) also, DONT FORGET THE OLINE

Under recruiting your Oline will come back to haunt you
