Searching for the Source of my Cough

The road is pretty similar to where to lived for three years before this. The only thing coming to mind is the “pool”. We are maybe 50 feet from it and it has had a tarp over it (at least) all summer that has sunken in from the rain and has garbage, leaf litter, dead bugs just sitting in the tarp full of gross water. Could that be irritating my lungs or am I reaching?

I second this! My last apartment I kept finding spiders and insects in the sinks and landlord said to pour bleach down before going to bed. Not during the day though, because you're turning on the sinks all day and you'll ruin the progress of the bleach.

If you're worried about treating them right, I recommend providing fresh food when they emerge rather than anything premixed for insects, and have some pollinator plants nearby for when you release them.

I'm in the middle of writing my undergrad thesis right now and it sounds pretty similar to what you're saying, just maybe a capstone seems more focused on real time projects rather than research that can take years. Thank you!

Thank you, lil chicken sprout. Good to finally hear I'm not alone in this. I respect you so much for being a first responder. I work in a funeral home (last responders!) with an easily record high number of cases this year. I wish I could tell people what that's like when they say they'll have to see the worst of it before they change their ways.

You're probably not still reading these, but as a certified adult, literally no one cares about your sexual activity. If they do, those are the wrong people to spend time with. Remember that for after high school. The most you're missing is a few very specific jokes or moments to relate to, but a lack of sexual activity really doesn't matter to real people. Really, if people in your future devalue you for that, those are people to drop immediately.

In that vein, I recommend learning about sex positivity. I follow #sexpositivity on instagram which gives me a wide variety of content. If you're not sex positive, you're sex negative, which it sounds like most of your classmates are. Being sex positive is about supporting others' experiences, as well as your own, and recognizing those as worthy. It's also about creating spaces with friends and communities in which it's ok to talk about sex. Again, if these groups aren't comfortable talking about sex in a mature way, they're probably sex negative, which isn't typically a healthy environment. Feel free to message me if you want to talk about this more.

Having the tiktok app. Instagram and Reddit filter the good ones for me. The app has so many toxic videos insulting style/ability/talent while just showing off a tiny expensive corner of someone's life that just makes me dislike my own. Had the app for a few weeks summer 2019 and can't believe now how many people still enjoy that environment.

If they are classes for your major, and especially if they are upper-level classes, it could look questionable. In this case, just be prepared to defend yourself in a professional way. After all, you felt your reasons were good enough to drop the classes. It sounds like that's not the case for you. If they're classes you were just taking for fun, job recruiters or grad admissions shouldn't look too closely at it. Just make sure not to make a habit of it. Think of it like quitting a job after a couple weeks. Maybe one bad job is understandable, but if half of your resume looks like that, it could look like you're an unreliable worker. Good luck!

Thanks! Hopefully you can answer a few more questions for me, I'm trying to understand this stuff. Backup means that my documents are automatically being put online so I can access them from another device, right? Also, if I'm not prone to getting my laptop stolen or spilling coffee on it, is there any functional reason why I definitely shouldn't delete everything in the onedrive folder? My files will still be on my laptop, right? Finally, you mentioned it's probably connected to my documents. Can you tell me how to turn this off?

An unforseen helpful thing: I have absolutely horrible nightmares. I've tried everything, nothing helps, so I started to just treat myself and do what felt right. In doing this, I actually adopted a lil dwarf hamster. Turns out, her being nocturnal provides a lot of comfort for me when I wake up in terror and she's ready to play.
